Jupiter High’s Lady Warrior volleyball team is off to a strong start with five big wins over Cardinal Newman (3-0) on Aug. 20, Wellington (3-1) on Aug. 22, Palm Beach Lakes (3-0) on Aug. 27, John I. Leonard (3-0) on Aug. 29 and Martin County (3-2) on Aug. 30.

“Our biggest competition is going to be Gardens because they have a lot of talented players and really good team chemistry,” senior Brianna Nowakowski said.

During the regular season the Lady Warriors face their district rival, the Lady Gators, on Sept. 27 at Palm Beach Gardens High. District games begin Oct. 16, and will be hosted at Palm Beach Gardens as well. If the Lady Warriors and Lady Gators make it to district finals, they will face each other again at the district championship.  

With One Tribe on their side, they are excited to face the tough competition.

“I think One Tribe affects the way we play in a good way because it gives us the energy we need to push through in tough matches. Also, you want to play better when everyone is watching, so it helps us fight and push,” senior Katherine Carter said.

One Tribe, a spirit club at Jupiter, was established in 2014 by English teacher Debi Depasquale to build school spirit and increase pride in Jupiter High. On Sept. 6, the Lady Warriors will face Jensen Beach High at Jupiter. Since it’s a home game, One Tribe will be in the stands cheering on the Lady Warriors varsity team at 7 p.m.

The volleyball team is hopeful for another victorious season, and one key to their success is team chemistry.

“Many of us have played with each other for so long which is why I think our team chemistry is so strong. Our team chemistry and passion for the game is the reason why we’re going to do so well this season,” senior Carly Griffith said.
