On Oct. 15, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced they are expecting a baby in spring of 2019.

The couple announced the pregnancy just five months after their marriage. The two of them were married on May 19. They met in London in July 2016, when a mutual friend introduced the couple, and they dated for 15 months before they were married.

A royal source tells PEOPLE that Meghan has had her 12-week ultrasound and is feeling well,” said a source from PEOPLE magazine.

When the new royal baby is born, he or she will join the other royal children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis of Cambridge, the children of William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Savannah and Isla Phillips, the daughters of Peter and Autumn Phillips, and Mia Grace and Lena Elizabeth, the daughters of Mike and Zara Tindall.  Markle and Prince Harry’s child will be seventh in line for the throne.

Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, expressed happiness at the news of welcoming her first grandchild.

Ms Doria Ragland is very happy about the lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild,” said Paul Withers of Express.co.uk.

During Meghan’s pregnancy, she will have to follow a few rules and traditions. Royals are not allowed to have a baby shower, and it is uncommon for royals to find out the gender of the baby until the baby is born. Typically, royals who are expecting do not travel internationally, but Markle and Harry have recently traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the kingdom of Tonga. The queen is the first to know when the child has arrived, and the birth will be celebrated with a 62-gun salute.
