On Dec. 22, Walt Disney Pictures released the long awaited trailer for the computer generated version of “The Lion King.”

 

The trailer aired during NFL’s traditional Thanksgiving primetime game (Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys) racking up more than 10 million views nationwide

 

The new film stars Beyonce Knowles, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiorfor and Seth Rogan. It will be released in July 2019.

 

Fans were happy to hear that James Earl Jones, who played Mufasa in the 1994 movie, will be re-joining the cast for the 2019 film.

 

Jon Favreau, director of the live action version of “The Jungle Book,” directed the film.

 

“It’s a directors dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” Faveru told BBC.

 

This is not Disney’s only live action film this year. “Aladdin’s” trailer aired in Oct., and the film is set to release in May 2019. “Dumbo’s” second trailer aired in Nov. and the film is to be released March 2019.

 

Disney’s new CGI versions of classic films continue to have fans rushing to theaters.
