CLASS NEWS

THE WARRIOR CHORUS had a successful weekend at Music Performance Assessments this past weekend at Park Vista High School.  The Warrior Women (Advanced Women’s Chorus) and Spectrum (Advanced Mixed Chorus) received straight Superior ratings!  The freshmen-focused Women’s Chorus Serenity and the Men of Jupiter also had fantastic performances.  Please congratulate the chorus students on their performances, and send them encouragement for their upcoming performances at the State Solo and Ensemble and State Concert Chorus Music Performance Assessments in April!

ATTENTION SENIORS! The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce: Foundation Student Leadership Award Application Deadline is Friday, March 29, by 5 PM. One recipient will receive a $3,000 award. Four additional recipients will each receive a $1,500 award. Recipients will be selected based on Demonstrated leadership experience that significantly impacts his/her school and/or community; Outstanding academic excellence (minimum 3.0 high school GPA); Evidence of significant community service done during the high school career; Involvement in school-based or community extra-curricular activities that demonstrate leadership qualities. Attention graduating high school seniors the DEADLINE for entry to the 6th Annual Fetterman & Associates Scholarship Project is rapidly approaching.  High school seniors may go to https://www.lawteam.com/scholarship/ for details and applications and the chance to win a $1000 scholarship.  To enter, students are required to write an original essay describing their most influential teacher.   The contest is open to high school seniors who intend to pursue higher education upon graduation.  Essays are blindly evaluated for original content and writing style.  Five winners will be chosen and each will be awarded a $1,000 cash scholarship.  Each student’s most influential teacher will be recognized and honored at the awards ceremony.

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES If you have school spirit, enjoy getting involved and are willing to put in the time and energy to lead the Class of 2021, then pick-up your Class of 2021 Officer Application from Mrs. DeLeonardo in Rm 3-105. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 26th! Join Class of 2021 Remind by texting @0081jhs to 81010.

PROM HAPPENINGS: This is the last week for Prom ticket sales.  Tickets will be available in the auditorium lobby today for those who are still wishing to purchase your ticket. Also, Creative Florals will be in the courtyard during lunch on Wednesday and Thursday this week taking orders for prom flowers.  They will have samples available for you to view.  Orders can be made here at school or over the phone.  They will also have the option of on-campus pick up on Thursday, March 28 for your convenience.  Not only will these be convenient for prom goers but they will also give back a percentage of sales to the school.  Be sure to stop by during lunch on Wednesday or Thursday to see what they have to offer.

CURRENT FRESHMEN The class of 2022 is looking for candidates for office for your Sophomore year!  If you are interested in running for a position, please pick up an application from Mrs. Jeffs in 5-207. Completed applications and speeches are due the morning of Tuesday, March 26th.  Any questions please see Mrs. Jeffs.

MEDICAL ACADEMY Seniors, please stop by 7-101 or 7-106 to pick up your application for the Chris Danek Scholarship. Deadline to apply is April 3, 2019.

THE NTHS mandatory meeting for all members is today (3/12) in room 4-214 at 2:45 pm.  Requirements for graduation cords and scholarships will be discussed.  Shirts and certificates will be distributed.  Signups for tutoring at Limestone Creek Elementary will be available.  Missing dues need to be paid.

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS come get your forms to audition!! Rooms 4-213 and 4-106.

ALL ARE WELCOME at the Best Buddies Walk on April 13th at the FITTEAM Ballpark in West Palm Beach. Join the Warrior Team by registering at bestbuddiesfriendshipwalk.org.  The walk is free but the first 25 people to sign up and donate $25 will receive a JHS Best Buddies t shirt! Any questions, find a BestBuddies officer or see Mrs. Capparelli or Mr. Bolt.

SPORTS

A CHEERLEADING TRYOUT interest meeting will be held on March 27th at 6:00 pm in JHS Gym. Tryout information and mandatory athletic forms will be given out at this meeting.
