On March 29, teen sensation Billie Eilish released her long awaited debut album “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?”

The album contains 14 songs, including her hit singles “you should see me in a crown,” “when the party’s over” and “bury a friend.”

Eilish announced the release date for the album on Jan. 29, making a record for the most pre-added album of all time on Apple Music. Shortly after, Eilish climbed to the number one spot as the most-streamed female artist on Spotify, with 55.2 million listeners.

With the eerie vibe that Eilish is known for, the album draws you in with dark and mesmerizing lyrics. Her idea for the album was to tell a “nightmare,” asking her fans on her Instagram story to listen to the whole album in order.

On “!!!!!!!,” the first track of the album, we hear no music or melody. It’s just a recording of Eilish taking out her Invisalign, laughing with others, saying “I have taken out my Invisalign and that is the album” and then leading into the next song. This song uniquely showers the dark album with her sense of humor.

An important song to highlight in the album is “xanny.” Eillish sings, “Please don’t try to kiss me on the sidewalk/On your cigarette break/I can’t afford to love someone/Who isn’t dying by mistake in Silver Lake,” thus making a statement against drugs. Eilish may have a nightmarish side to her art, but she still has room to advocate against drug use.

Another favorite track is “bad guy,” with a soft upbeat. A playful music video was uploaded two days after the album release, and already has 32 million views on YouTube. “So you’re a tough guy/Like it really rough guy/Just can’t get enough guy/Chest always so puffed guy/I’m that bad type,” Eilish sings.

This sinister yet playful album immediately appeals to listeners with well-made music, catchy lyrics and a funky vibe. With her fame on the rise, this album will make its mark in music history, and so will Eilish.
