There is only one way to change a student’s schedule: turn in the pink form provided by Guidance. You cannot email, text, call, talk to a counselor in person or send a carrier pigeon to correct your schedule.

Students’ schedules must satisfy the graduation requirements and be the appropriate academic level. However, in a school of over 3,200 students, the eight guidance counselors are bound to be flooded with requests from students and parents to alter schedules.

Here is how to do it.

1. Pick up a pink “Schedule Correction Form” from the guidance office all day or the guidance cart during lunch.

2. Fill out the form with the student’s name, student number, first period teacher, grade, date, the class to be dropped, the class to be added and an explanation of why the schedule change should be made.

3. Get signatures from the teacher whose class is being dropped and a parent.

4. Sign the form.

5. Turn the form into the guidance office or cart by Aug. 23

Students may provide additional information on the back of the pink sheet and may not turn in multiple forms.
