11/5 Announcements

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Chieftain Yearbook staff for being honored as a CSPA Crown Finalist for the first time
in the school’s history. This is one of the top yearbook awards in the nation. Crown Finalists are actual winners, not
nominees. Some will be announced as Gold Crowns; the rest are Silver Crowns. Final results will be announced and
presented at the CSPA ceremonies in March 2020 at Columbia University in NY City. Outstanding job, yearbook staff.
JUPITER HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE PRESENTS The Lottery and Adventures of Captain Neato Man November 7, 8, & 9 at
7pm in the Jupiter High School Auditorium. General Admission Tickets – $10. Students with JHS ID – $5.
JHS BAND is hosting a Blaze Pizza Fundraiser today (11/5) from 5-9:00 pm. Please support our band!
HANNAH’S HOUSE DONATION DRIVE Please help pregnant teens get back on their feet by donating items from the list.
Community Service Hours will be given. Drop off new items to Mrs. Rivera, Rm 7-110 now through Nov. 19 before school
or during lunch.
JHS SWAT is having the 2nd Annual Not A Lab Rat Week. Tobacco companies market e-cigarettes to teens with deceptive
advertising and sweet flavors. They think teens are expendable experimental subjects. Don’t be a lab rat. Please join JHS
SWAT in the fight against tobacco companies, e-cigarettes, and JUULS. We will be in the courtyard during lunch on
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (11/6-8) with postcards that say “I am not a lab rat.” You will be able to write a
personal message expressing why you don’t use JUULS. JHS SWAT will then mail the postcards to JUUL labs in San

BEST BUDDIES Please wear your new Best Buddies shirt every Tuesday during the month of November. If you haven’t
received your t-shirt, stop by Mrs. McAfee’s room, 7-110, before school to pick it up. Here are other Best Buddy events
in November: Wednesday (11/6) Go see the dress rehearsal of the school play. Meet in front of the auditorium at 5:45.
Dress rehearsal starts at 6:00. Peer buddy only meeting during lunch on Thursday (11/7) in room 7-110. You will learn
how to fill out your friendship updates. Lunch meeting for ALL MEMBERS on Tuesday, November 19th in room 7-107.
Please bring your lunch. All this information will be sent via Google classroom and as a text. Go Best Buddies!

HOSA Today is the Deadline to join the club and compete at the regional conference (11/5). Please see Mrs Scarafia in
room 7-106 for an application. There will be no further opportunities to join HOSA this school year.
CONGRATULATIONS to the girls cross country team for qualifying for the State Championship in Tallahassee. These
ladies are saving the best for last! The team was led by Ali Del Re and Mia Taylor. Ava Romero, Sydney Buck, Peyton Del
Re, Alexa Hansen, Chloe Smith, and Marissa Runge all ran their best allowing the team to move on. Good luck State
SAND VOLLEYBALL Any girls interested in playing sand volleyball for the spring season? There will be a meeting after
