SGA holds annual door decorating contest

The halls of Jupiter High School have been transformed from a mundane row of wooden doors to a festive spectacle thanks to the Student Government Association’s annual door decorating contest.

The doors must be decorated by the end of the day on Dec. 11 and will be judged during first period on Dec. 12.

The three classes with the best doors will be given holiday treats and prizes.

SGA’s goal is to get people excited to be at school and increase school spirit.

“We want to put smiles on people’s faces,” senior SGA member Emily Evans said.

ASD Resource Teacher Cathy Lang’s seventh period is decorating her classroom door. She said she loves the contest because it allows her students to work together.

“What I hope comes out of this is joy for the kids,” Lang said. “I hope they really enjoy the experience of decorating and I also it hope it gets them excited for the holidays.”
