THE UPCOMING SAT for All 11th graders will be offered on campus at 7:30am on March 4th. Remember to Bring: a
Photo ID, Pencils, calculator (calculators cannot be provided by the school), a sweater (the gym gets cold), and optional
water and snacks.
LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ASVAB Whether you’re planning on college, technical school, or you’re just not sure
yet, the ASVAB Career Exploration Program can provide you with important information about your skills, abilities and
interests in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB is free of charge and will be administered this
Thursday, Feb. 27. Signups are in guidance and it’s open to all 10th – 12th grade students.
SENIORS IN THE SOCIAL STUDIES HONOR SOCIETY We will be collecting $15 dues today at lunch in the courtyard for your
graduation chord. Please bring EXACT cash.
ADVANCED PROGRAMS SHOWCASE Students— wondering which accelerated courses to enroll in for next year? Looking
for information on how to earn those last few points for your AICE diploma? Join us on Monday, March 2nd for our
annual Advanced Programs Showcase. Right here at JHS from 7 to 8 pm! You can find information about the newest
accelerated courses available to help you get a leg up on College Readiness and help you stand out in the college
admissions process. See you then!!
ASTRONOMY WORKSHOP Those interested in attending a 1 week, all paid for workshop in West Virginia this summer
needs to see Mrs. Swigert in P 17 to take a lesson on pulsar research at lunchtime on Mar 5th. Check out “Teenage Radio

CLUBS
THE JHS BEYOND BREAST CANCER CLUB is having a Jupiter Donuts Fundraiser on February 27th & March 6th at 7:00 am
in the Atrium. Donuts will be $2 each and all proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
So please come and enjoy a donut and contribute to a very worthy cause.
RED CROSS CLUB Attention all members: We will be meeting during lunch today (2/26) in room 10-104. Anyone
interested in joining is welcome to attend.
BEST BUDDIES will have their monthly lunch meeting on Thursday, February 27 in room 7-107. March calendars will be
handed out which includes the Friendship Ball being held on Friday, March 13th. Bring your lunch, and we hope to see
you there! Peer buddies, make sure to fill in your friendship logs.
ANDREW RED HARRIS FOUNDATION The next meeting of the Club is Thursday during lunch in Rm 4-217. We will be
electing our officers, and we encourage any interested students to attend. The club promotes enhancing coastal reef
environments.
THE NO PLACE FOR HATE CLUB is hosting a book drive for juvenile detention centers and women’s prisons. Drop off
books in Mrs. Arriero-Ferriera’s room in guidance. Books need to be softcover and appropriate for ages 9 and up.
5TH ANNUAL DANCE MARATHON is this Saturday (2/29) from 5-10PM to support Shands Children’s Hospital at the
University of Florida. For a $25 donation, you will receive a t-shirt, unlimited food, and 6+ community service hours, as
well as dancing, games, music, and fun with our Miracle Families. Purchase Tickets in Mr. Hammett’s Portable 1 or from
any Dance Marathon Committee member. Dress code is just school appropriate clothes. Nothing fancy. Tickets will cost
$30 at the door, so get your ticket early and save $5.
JACOB’S SHOES Please help collect new and gently used shoes for the community in need. Items may include shoes of
all types and sizes….children through adult size…men’s, women’s sneakers, cleats, dress shoes. Shoes may be delivered
to Mrs. Cronkhite’s room 6-105 now through March 3. Bring your Community Service Log if you would like hours for
your collection time.
SPORTS
GIRLS VARSITY LACROSSE The team won their season opener against St. Edwards 9-17. Becky Aiello led the team with 7
goals, Stella Gorin had 6 goals and 3 assists, Natalie Hart 2 draw controls, Chloe Griskie had 1 goal and 3 draw controls,
Kelly Giibbs had 1 goal, Celia Fidanza had 4 goals and 7 assists, Goalie Kara Krusby had phenomenal saves. The girls have
an away game against Dwyer on Thursday at 7 and a home game Friday at 6 against Seminole Ridge.
