National School Breakfast Week is being held March 2nd through March 6th! Our breakfast program is blasting off into
new territory! Studies show that children who eat school breakfast are more likely to: Reach higher levels of
achievement in reading and math, Score higher on standardized tests, Have better concentration and memory, Be more
alert and maintain a healthy weight. Remember, breakfast is FREE for all students. Achieve results in new stratospheres
by starting the day off right.
CLASS NEWS
THE PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE SUMMER DUAL ENROLLMENT registration window begins March 17th and runs
through May 15th for Summer A and May 22nd for Summer B. Interested students must be eligible for the Dual
Enrollment Program with a 3.0 cumulative GPA, college ready test scores, and attend a mandatory PBSC Advising
Session. PBSC will have an Advising Session here at JHS on April 8th so plan to attend! Sign up in Guidance. Information
about the Dual Enrollment Program is available on the JHS website and in the Dual Enrollment Center in Guidance.
GOOD EATS FOR A GOOD CAUSE We are so close to our goal for a new ESE bus. Chili’s is hosting another give back day
on March 5. It’s a multi-restaurant deal. Head to Chili’s in Palm Beach, Martin or St Lucie counties. Show this flyer, and
we will get 20% of your entire check. Thanks for your support.
ALL 11TH GRADERS will be taking the SAT at 7:30am this Wednesday, March 4th. Make sure you know what to bring and
not to bring.
ADVANCED PROGRAMS SHOWCASE Join us tonight (3/2) for our annual Advanced Programs Showcase. Right here at JHS
from 7 to 8 pm! You can find information about the newest accelerated courses available to help you get a leg up on
College Readiness and help you stand out in the college admissions process.
ASTRONOMY WORKSHOP Those interested in attending a 1 week, all paid for workshop in West Virginia this summer

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY applications are available in Rm 1-155, periods 1-6 and Lunch. You can also visit the JHS
website, https://jhs.palmbeachschools.org/students___parents/forms. Requirements: 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA,
100 hours of community service, Applications are due no later than Tuesday, March 31st, your first day back from Spring
Break. This open window is three weeks long, giving you a week during Spring Break for completion.
HEAD TO CHIPOTLE on Tuesday March 3rd from 4-8pm to support A Prom to Remember, the foundation to help fund a
prom for teens with cancer.
JACOB’S SHOES All new and gently used shoes need to be delivered to Mrs. Cronkhite’s room 6-105 tomorrow, March 3.

SGA NEWS
Our athlete of the week is Elliana Manzo. Elliana is a junior that plays on the girls’ varsity basketball team and track
team. In basketball, Elliana led the team to the District Finals this season. Plus, she finished the season with the most
points scored and most three pointers made. All the while, playing on a torn ACL!
The last pep rally of the year is coming up on March 20th so don’t miss it! The dates to get pep rally wristbands at lunch
are only the 16th, 18th, and 19th. Plus, there are only 250 wristbands for each class so first come first serve.

The Teacher of the Week for this week is Mr. Brian Goodman! First off – he drives a Tesla, and that’s pretty cool. His dry
wit conceals the fact that he genuinely cares about his students, and he is simply very good at what he does.
The student forum is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3 during 1st period. Bring your ideas, suggestions, and concerns to
the meeting.

give us imput or ideas on our events if you’re not able to make the forum meeting.
