Cinépolis reopens with precautions in place

If you’re in the mood for a full, film experience with the perks of a movie theater, you’re in luck. The Cinépolis theater in Jupiter has reopened after being closed since March due to COVID-19.

The theater is working at 50 percent capacity, as well as accommodating all CDC guidelines, such as wearing masks and social distancing.

“They are…requiring masks to be worn while you are walking through the lobby and hallways, as well as when the waiter is taking your order,” Evan Goforth, Cinépolis employee and Jupiter High alumnus, said.

Cinépolis has made it easy for customers to see they are dedicated to maintaining a healthy environment without overwhelming them with procedures. Moviegoers have expressed their satisfaction about the abundance of safety precautions to keep moviegoers and employees safe.

“I noticed that there were lines that we needed to walk on and certain areas that you were supposed to stand-in,” Katelyn Albury, Jupiter High sophomore, said.

In the lobby, there are single entry and exit doors, in addition to stickers on the floor to guide visitors. These stickers are also seen around the ticket and concession counters. Employees and customers are expected to wash their hands frequently as well.

“Everyone kept their hands clean and followed guidelines to prevent illness in the workplace,” Goforth said.

Cinépolis wants their customers to be happy and to leave the theater with a good experience, all the while feeling safe during a pandemic.

“It was super easy to go in and sit down and be able to watch a movie without having to worry too much about the procedures,” Albury said.
