TEENS HELPING HOSPICE Is having their first virtual and brick & mortar meeting this Thursday, December 10 at 2:50 pm. You can attend either virtually using google meet code: ixqqjzo  Or you can go to portable 10 where we will practice social distancing during our meeting.  Hope to see you this Thursday! 

HOSA The next general meeting is today (12/8) at 2:45 in room 7-101. Regional conference competitive events will be discussed and sign-ups will be held during this meeting. All interested in competing need to attend!

NEHS The National English honor Society has a google classroom this year. Please join using code b42gxpc. This will serve as the means for communication. You can stop by Rm 1-155 to see Mrs. Sparks or email her with any questions.

SPRING SPORTS Any students wishing to try out for spring sports – packets may be turned in now through January 15. Turn them in ASAP to 10-112 to ensure you are cleared for the first day of tryouts.

WRESTLING Saturday at the Jensen Beach JV Wrestling Tournament the following Warriors placed: Jackson Cleveland – 2nd, Dalton Silverberg – 3rd, Owen Eagan – 4th. On Wednesday we will host Suncoast and Palm Beach Gardens for a tri-meet. The first 15 students to come to gain admission WITH THEIR STUDENT ID at 3:45pm will be given a wristband to attend free of charge. 

All Dual Enrollment  students must be registered for their PBSC class by the December 15th deadline! 

Best Buddies  will have a virtual club meeting on Tuesday, December 15th at 4:00 pm.  We will be making holiday cards to send to nursing homes.  Stop by room 7-110 to pick up a few cards, or go to Best Buddies google classroom to print out the cards.

Beyond Breast Cancer will be holding a meeting on Thursday, December 10 at 3:20 pm online. Their mission is to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The google classroom code is: u4qc64f. New members are always welcome!

Science National Honor Society Applications are now open. Please fill out the following google form and read the instructions. https://forms.gle/FgSakQP7sMmvmbB56. Science teachers of juniors and seniors should have posted the form to their google classrooms. Deadline to apply is 12/18.

Attention seniors The deadline to take senior portraits at Cady Studios, for inclusion in the 2021 yearbook, is Dec. 31. Book your appointment now on www.cady.com/schedule. Be sure to scroll down for multiple options and packages. 

Cady Studios will be on campus Dec. 17 to photograph seniors for the “Simple Session.” You can sign up for on-campus senior portraits online as well at www.cady.com/schedule.

Key Club along with the Pajama Project of PBC will be collecting NEW kids’ Pajamas for grades k-12 .  These PJ’s will be given out to Palm Beach County kids who don’t currently have a nice pair of Pajamas to go to bed in. In addition to the PJ’s, you may also donate a NEW children’s book  Hours will ONLY be given for those who donate both a NEW Children’s book and a NEW pair of pajamas,  Drop off your donations to Mr. Hammett in portable 1. Stay tuned for details on a day that you can wear your pajamas here on campus!

SAM CLUB Students Against Melanoma – please join us for a brief but informative December meeting to discuss community service opportunities and activities that you can do over winter break and beyond.  We will meet on Thursday, December 10th. The meeting will start at 3:15 PM. Access the Meet link on Google Classroom. We have some winners from our sun safety video contest, but we have more prizes and will be hosting another round of the contest.  See you there!

ATTENTION ALL FRENCH STUDENTS If you have completed French 1 and 2, then you are eligible to be considered for membership in National French Honor Society! Please email either NFHS Advisor Mrs. Jurawan at [email protected] or NFHS President Jacob Roman at [email protected] to apply for membership to NFHS. The first National French Honor Society meeting of the year will be held after school on Thursday, December 10. You may attend either in-person in Mrs. Jurawan’s room–Portable 31–or virtually with a soon-to-be-released Google Meet link. Officer elections will be held during this meeting. Make sure to apply for NFHS as soon as possible, and make this year a great year!

ATTENTION 9TH GRADE STUDENTS!  Take Stock in Children is a college readiness program with the potential to earn a Fl. Prepaid Scholarship. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty for low-income, academically qualified students by providing opportunities for a post-secondary education. Through an innovative multi-year model they provide services to students, with no drop-off of services after high school completion. Students are matched with a caring volunteer mentor, equipped with academically focused intervention, awarded a college scholarship, and provided with post-secondary retention services. Take Stock will be holding an informational meeting for current 9th grade students and their parents who would like to apply. Jupiter High School students, families, and staff, Our school has been selected for the District’s “Thank a Teacher: On Tour” campaign!  Through Wednesday, December 9, show gratitude for our teachers by nominating them! Include specific examples or stories in your nomination about how a teacher has been going the distance for you this school year and why you appreciate that teacher so much. Three teachers with the strongest, most inspiring nominations from our school will be featured in a video on the District’s social media pages on Thursday, December 17, at 6 p.m. The featured teachers will also win a prize of $100! All nominees from our school will still receive a special email message with the words of gratitude from your nominations. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY NHS is sponsoring a children’s book drive. Simply turn in four new children’s books to Mrs. Sparks, in room 1-155, to earn twenty community service hours. The deadline is December 18th in room 1-155, off the media center.

Interested in coming out for Track and Field this spring? There are so many different events to try: sprints (100 & 200), middle distance (400 & 800), long distance (mile & 2 mile), Hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and javelin! Plus relays! There will be a short informational meeting at the track after school on Wednesday, Dec 9 at 3:00pm. You can also join the track Google Classroom to get information at 7j6fzut or stop by Coach Jefferson’s portable 29. (until Wed)

THE WARRIORS AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING CLUB  will be holding a lunch meeting during both A and B lunch on Tuesday December 8th. Lunch A will meet in Ms. Icart’s room (7-111) and lunch B will meet in Mrs. Hansen’s room (5-109). You can also join via Google Meet (Join Code 5nvm7be).  If you are interested in purchasing a Warriors Against Human Trafficking shirt, please bring $15 to the meeting, or contact Mrs. Hansen. Part of the proceeds will go to Ashton Kutcher’s THORN organization to help combat human trafficking.

THIS HOLIDAY SEASON the Childhood Cancer support club is aiming to brighten up the days of many young cancer patients within South Florida; however, they need your help!  CCS will be hosting a Toy Drive thru Friday, December 11th.  Bring in any new, unwrapped toys in exchange for service hours. There is a box in room 7-208 for brick and mortar students and a box in the front office for virtual students. All donations will be given to the pediatric cancer unit at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.  Thank you for your support!
