OPTIONAL PSAT MAKEUPS for 10th and 11th grade students is January 26th. This is ONLY for students that did NOT take the PSAT in October.  The test is not mandatory.  If you choose to take it, you must register. 10th graders register on the District testing portal tile, 11th graders register on school cash online.  The 11th grade PSAT cost $18. Registration closes today, January 15th.

DON’T FORGET YOUR VALENTINE! Show them you care with flowers! GREEN TEAM members will be taking orders for CARNATIONS to be delivered to your special someone, a friend, or even someone you secretly admire. Each flower will be delivered with your own special message on February 12th during 2nd period. Carnations are $1 each. Order your Valentine flowers starting January 19th! Orders must be placed by Wednesday, February 10th. See any Green Team member, look for students carrying Flower Boxes, or Dr. Thornton in room 3-108.

FIRST PRIORITY invites you to the club and enjoy a donut.  Meet in front of the school by the flagpole for fellowship and an inspiring message. (and of course, enjoy a donut together).  Come out on Tuesday, January 19th before school and check out the club!  See you there.

COMPUTER SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY Is new this year. Students interested in technology are welcome to join. The purpose of this organization is to encourage students’ enthusiasm for computer science, to honor academic excellence, and to promote service.  The application is on the CSHS Google Classroom Code:  53kyg3k, and is due by Friday, Jan. 22. Requirements for Membership: Must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior, Must have passed one Computer Science class, GPA of 3.0 or better.

THE VENDING MACHINE in the cafeteria is now operational with your student number and pin to purchase snacks.  Breakfast and lunch is free for all students until next September.  Please stop by the Donut Hole breakfast cart in the courtyard for a breakfast on the go or breakfast in the cafeteria. Lunch is available at the Tender Vendor concession, the Sub Central cart in the courtyard and inside the cafeteria.  We look forward to seeing you!

BOYS LACROSSE Anyone planning to try out who is not already receiving team communication via TeamSnap needs to email [email protected] with their name and cell number along with their parents/legal guardians names, cell numbers, and email addresses as soon as possible. All players fully completed athletic packets, COVID waivers, and try out fees must be turned in to Ms. Jalm by today (1/15) to be eligible.

SENIOR GOOGLE CLASSROOM–CLASS OF 2021 Make sure you have joined.  Important information on graduation, caps and gowns, and other essential info will be posted throughout the second semester. The code is bzrdvo5.

VIRTUAL STUDENTS Cady Studios will be photographing virtual students from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. today. Virtual students need to park in the gym or baseball lot, check-in through the main office, and bring a mask. If you can’t attend this session, Cady Studios will be back on campus Feb. 19 for make-up sessions. Please fill out the form so we can get an accurate count of how many virtual students plan to get photographed. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Muncy or any yearbook staffer. IF YOU PLAY A FALL OR WINTER SPORT, Cady Studios will be on campus today to take your team picture, unless otherwise indicated by your coach. Each team has a specific time slot, so be sure to see the schedule. Reach out to your coach or Mrs. Muncy for more details.

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2023 Please make sure to pay your class dues through school cash online. Upon paying your dues, you can receive your class shirt from Mrs. Willis in the guidance/ESOL office.

NEXT WEEK we will be following a “Block Schedule”.  English teachers will be administering the reading diagnostic test and PBPA (writing test). The block schedule will allow students to take the test in their classroom. Virtual students will take the diagnostics online during their English class. The Tuesday we come back from our 3-day weekend is an “Odd” Day (Periods 1,3,5,7).

FLAG FOOTBALL Attention all girls who are interested in playing. Coach Embick and Coach DeLeonardo have set up a Google Classroom for information. The code is 7capubp. Your completed and correct athletic eligibility packet is due to the Athletic Director, Coach Jalm today (1/15). No exceptions. JHS SURF RIDERS CHAPTER is getting started. Come to Mr. Kovachick’s Room 4-119 after school today (1/15) to join the Surf Riders Club and learn about volunteer hours and club positions.
