TRACK MEET RESULTS The Warrior Track Team competed in the Dwyer Panther Relays. the whole team participated, gaining experience and having fun! Billy Bates led the boys’ team to a 2nd place team finish with his win in the javelin. The girls’ team finished 3rd with the 4 x 800 relay team of Sidney Buck, Carlyn Russell, Alexa Hanssen and Toni Contento placing 1st!

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL STUDENTS The Mind, Body, Soul 5K will be happening on March 27th at Riverbend Park. We need students to help with various tasks. To sign up for a time slot to volunteer, please join our google classroom using the code qifn3p6. All students/parents are welcome to come help, and community service hours will be given!

 

LOOKING SPECIFICALLY FOR SENIORS FROM JHS The Pearl Mae Foundation gives annual scholarships to students who want to pursue careers in the health care or first responder fields to help support the increased demands of the growing senior population.  The 2021 scholarship application is NOW OPEN! The deadline to apply has been extended to April 15th. Winners will be announced Late-April.  Student must be seeking a career in the healthcare or first responder fields (nursing, pre-med track, EMT, firefighter, police officer, etc.)

FLORIDA FUTURE EDUCATORS OF AMERICA (FFEA) SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Qualified high school seniors and non-instructional employees interested in becoming teachers in Palm Beach County, upon graduation from college, are eligible to apply for Scholarships of $1500.00 per year, for a maximum of five consecutive years. Applications, eligibility criteria, and directions are located on the District website at: https://www.palmbeachschools.org/careers/ffea. Complete FFEA scholarship application packets must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 29

 

NHS APPLICANTS The due date is this Friday, 3/26, by 2:45 pm. If you are virtual, your teacher letters of recommendation are on the cart outside of the main office and you must pick them up to add to your application. No one is doing this for you. There is a bin on the cart for submission. If you are brick & mortar, there is the same cart outside of the main office or a bin outside of room 1-155 down the hallway outside of the Media Center. Please contact Mrs. Sparks with any questions. She is available for assistance periods 1-6 and lunch.

 

STUDENTS, We would love for you to wear crazy socks on Friday. This past Sunday, 3/21/2021, was World Down Syndrome Awareness Day and each year this organization does a Rock Your Socks campaign. Because we didn’t get to celebrate this past Friday, we would love it if you could all Rock your Socks this coming Friday. So don those crazy socks, take a pic and post it to social media. Thank you so much.

 

STUDENTS AGAINST MELANOMA  We will have a brief SAM club meeting at 3:15 on Thursday, March 25th to go over an art contest taking place for Melanoma Monday.  All members should attend by clicking on the Google Classroom meet link prior to 3:15.  See you then!

SAY SOMETHING WEEK This week our SAVE Promise Club is having “Say Something” week of events to bring awareness to gun violence prevention specifically and violence prevention in general. Today we are showing the Evan video on the announcements. It is a PSA about recognizing the signs of violence before it happens.
