BOYS’ BASKETBALL There will be a mandatory meeting for all interested in trying out for Boys Basketball on Thursday, October 28th directly after school in Coach JD’s room 6-106. Please make sure to let Coach know if you cannot make it.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Jupiter High School Festival of Bands is scheduled on Saturday, November 6. We are looking for student volunteers to assist. Twenty-four bands have confirmed attendance. This is the largest undertaking in the event’s history therefore the need for volunteers is great. TEACHER OF THE WEEK is Mrs. Gilbert- she is an amazing teacher who works hard to help her students. She is very great at what she does and overall is an awesome teacher.
THE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK is Greyson Higgins, He is a senior who is on the varsity football team, Greyson is a captain and a leader on the field, Greyson is an excellent student who excels on and off the field. Greyson is a fine young man who represents what a warrior is. Thank you Greyson for inspiring students and teachers at this school.
A QUICK SHOUTOUT to Mrs. Jeffs and Coach Steele for winning the teacher homecoming court. This is probably Mrs. Jeffs 100th time winning; congrats to you both.

NFHS There will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, October 27th during LUNCH B in Portable 31! Be there or be square.

ATTENTION 9TH GRADERS! The Johnson Take Stock Program will be recruiting on campus during both lunches on November 2. Students must be in 9th grade, with a 2.8 GPA or higher, no behavior referrals, strong attendance, crime and drug free. In addition, students must have financial need. This program is a 4 year program and benefits include a weekly mentor, a College Readiness Coach, college tours, ACT/SAT Boot camps, a Florida Prepaid scholarship and many other wrap-around services. If you are in 9th grade and interested in applying for this program then come see the representatives during both lunches on November 2 in the courtyard to get the application and learn more about the program, which partners with Palm Beach County School District.

COPS & TEENS TALK resumes on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Nothing formal, we just hang out, have pizza and talk about what is going on in our lives to find common ground and help each other out in any way we can.  Warning- Our conversations can get serious. Earn community service hours for attending the meetings. Bring your school sheets with you for signatures. All are Welcome!

JOIN JUPITER HIGH’S NEW CLUB, MODEL UN! If you enjoy discussing current global issues and are interested in debate and public speaking, this is the club for you. Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more. THE GREEN TEAM will be selling GHOST LOLLIPOPS  for the next two weeks at lunches before school or find a Green Team Member with a box! They are frightfully fun!

SAM CLUB meets today (10/25) at 3:00pm.  Please plan to attend. We have lots of upcoming events to discuss!  The meeting will be virtual. 

FIRST PRIORITY meets tomorrow in the courtyard by the ceramics room during B lunch. We are going to have a game, food and an inspirational message.  Everyone is invited.

THE HISPANIC HERITAGE FOUNDATION’S 2021 Youth Awards educational grants program is now accepting applications from  the graduating Class of 2022  for up to $4000 to fund their higher education or community-based project. Students must meet the following criteria: currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2022, minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA, enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2022-2023, Be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines), a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under DACA. The deadline to apply is November 14th, 2021. Students can apply at www.HispanicHeritage.org.

PICTURE RETAKES are this Wednesday (10/27) auditorium. CADY Studios photographers will be on campus from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Muncy or any yearbook staffer.

LATINOS IN ACTION is collecting travel size bottles of soap, as well as bars of soap for students and families of Jupiter Elementary. We will be in the courtyard  from  7-7:25 am thru Nov. 3. Please donate and receive community service hours.

NAHS Applications for the 2021-22 National Art Honor Society are open and can be found on the NAHS Google Site (https://sites.google.com/palmbeachschools.org/national-art-honor-society/membership). Scan the QR codes located on posters around the school. Students must have 3.0 in their art classes, be in 10th grade or higher and participate in school exhibitions.
