Starbucks released their holiday items on Nov. 4, nearly two months after the release of their fall items, including their signature Pumpkin Spice Lattés.

On top of new drinks, Starbucks has also released holiday food items, including a Reindeer Cake Pop, Snowman Sugar Cookie, Sugar Plum Cheese Danish and their signature Cranberry Bliss Bar.

¨The new variety of drinks really excites a lot of the customers that want a change to their normal coffee,” Coldon Reeves, junior and Starbucks barista, said.

This year’s release features a new drink, Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, which will replace the Eggnog Latte.

“The Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte is a [regular] latte but it uses almond milk and sugar cookie syrup, making it taste like sugar cookies,” Reeves said.

The Sugar Cookie almond milk latte is a great choice for those who prefer a standard dairy-free latte without having to make any customizations. It has blonde shots in it and topped with red and green sprinkles.

“The Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte came out this year with a bang,” Elise Banks, senior and Starbucks barista, said.

The release also features the return of the Peppermint Mocha, Creme Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha and Irish Cream Cold Brew. The lattes and mochas can be served Iced, while some drinks like the Peppermint Mocha can even be served as a Frappuccino.

“We have a seasonal drink called the Peppermint Mocha Latte that is a Starbucks seasonal favorite,” Banks said.

According to Banks, the Peppermint Mocha Latte has pumps of mocha and peppermint syrup, with shots of espresso, steamed milk and topped with whipped cream with chocolate curls.

“There is also a featured Irish Cream Cold Brew which comes with pumps of Irish cream syrup, our signature cold brew and an Irish cream cold foam to finish with cocoa powder topping,” Banks said.

Even with the introduction of the holiday drinks, the Starbucks fall drinks are still popular as ever. Reeves favorite drink is the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which includes the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice syrup, espresso shots, steamed milk, and topped with whipped cream and pumpkin spice topping.

Starbucks has also released their seasonal blends, including the Thanksgiving Blend, Christmas Blend and Holiday Blend, each with different underlying flavors. They are sold as bags of coffee; with their purchase you can have it grinded in store for you to a setting of your preference.

The Starbucks app also features all the holiday changes as well, including a new holiday banner when the app opens. Scrolling through the feed also features all of the holiday food, beverage and merchandise specials.

Reeves and Banks enjoys working during the holiday season because they feel the customers are in a better mood and it really brings a positive and uplifting spirit to the entire place.

“There is always positivity radiating from the Starbucks Partners onto the customers,” Banks said. “It’s great to feel appreciated and bring joy onto others.”
