REMINDERS Students, the dress code is being enforced every day. If you are tardy for class and miss more than 50% of the class, you will be marked absent.

CONGRATULATIONS to the girls’ tennis team. They were District Runner-up. We fell short to Wellington by one point. The girls played their hearts out and showed such sportsmanship on and off the court. Could not be more proud of such a fine group of ladies. The girls will move on to play in the regional tournament next week.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the boy’s weightlifting team for finishing 6th out of 20 teams at the regionals last Friday at Saint Cloud. Congratulations also to the following lifters for placing in the meet: Zach Forte 8th, Marco Thomas 9th, Dakota Vinyard 2nd, Blaine Baxter 6th, Kevin Cardenas 10th, Desean Barrett 4th.

 

SHOUTOUT TO SOPHOMORE, RAELEN MAUGE, a panelist in the Published Before 18 Panel at last weekend’s BAM Festival.

 

ANY SENIOR who has received a military appointment or a JROTC college scholarship and would like to be recognized at Senior Awards Night must see Mrs. Woeber or Mrs. Thornton in the guidance office no later than May 2 to be included in the event program.

THE JHS DRAMA AND DANCE PROGRAMS will be putting on a showcase in the auditorium on May 16th. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the show starts at 6 PM. Join us as we perform numbers from some of Broadway’s biggest shows! Admission will be $5 for students and $10 for adults.  We hope to see you there!

If you need a no-stress, no homework, and fun class to help you grow as a writer, then please consider signing up to take Creative Writing 1 & 2 next year. If you are already a skilled writer and you would like to apply for the honors class, please submit a portfolio of 3 original pieces to Mrs. Steyn (1 story, 1 poem, 1 choice piece) and you may be selected to move straight into the honors class. NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS? In honor of Autism Awareness Month, the ASD department is asking for donations.  We are in need of the following items:

Small Plushies, Pop-Its, Fidget Spinners, Lanyards, Sunglasses (for girls and boys), Headphones (for computers), Stickers (memes, etc.), Classic Board Games

You can earn hours through the time spent collecting any of these items.   The maximum community service hours you can earn is 5.  Please drop off your items in Room 4-107.  The last day to donate is Friday, May 6th.

 

ATTENTION FRESHMAN! If you love our beaches and want to get some community service hours, join us in The Great American Cleanup Saturday, April 23rd from 8:45 until 11 am. Registration will begin at 8:45 which is when you will get your community service sheet signed. You can also get a free t-shirt! We can only take 25 people so please sign up with the google form

BOYS VARSITY LACROSSE District Final is TODAY at Wellington at 6 pm.

 

THE GIRLS LACROSSE TEAM has advanced to the District finals! After defeating Seminole Ridge 20-4 and Wellington 20-9, the Lady Warriors will take on Palm Beach Central in the final. The game will take place today at Palm Beach Central High School at 6 pm. Tickets can be purchased on the GoFan app. Good luck Lady Warriors!!

 

LETTERS FOR ROSE Come to the LAST meeting of the 2021-2022 school year today (4/14) in Ms. Ellis’s room 4-118! LFR aims to reduce loneliness among elders during covid-19 by creating and distributing personalized letters to local nursing homes. One hour of community service will be given for the time spent writing your letter! COMPUTER SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY end of year meeting is today (4/14) at 2:50 pm in Room 4-209. Google Meet link is in CSHS Google Classroom.  Seniors that have met all the requirements can pick up their Graduation Cords at the meeting. Requirements have been posted in Google Classroom Stream.  

 

NROTC MARINE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM The briefing will be in room 4-112  during both lunches on Tuesday, April 26.  

 

HOSA  Last call to bring new and (slightly)  used books in good condition to Rm 7-101. These books will be for students, ages 5-11, and will be donated to Jupiter Elementary School. Community service hours are available for your planning and collection efforts. Thank you!
