As summer’s suffocating heat gives way and the gentle embrace of autumn arrives, Jupiter transforms into a haven for those looking to romanticize the season. With its unique coastal charm and community spirit, Jupiter’s picturesque town offers countless ways to celebrate autumn.
Pumpkin Towne Pumpkin Patch, opening Oct. 3 in Jupiter on Indiantown from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. is a perfect place to gather with friends and family to shop for pumpkins of any size. With these pumpkins, you can make pumpkin desserts or dishes.
“My family and I buy huge pumpkins every year from Pumpkin Towne,” Kassidy Maret, junior said. “We make pumpkin seeds and pumpkin bread from scratch.”
Jupiter also offers a plethora of fall festivals, one being located locally at Blue Ridge Farms. This festival is held on the dates of Friday Oct. 4 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 5-6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include kids’ games, live music, face painting, local food trucks and a massive pumpkin patch with over 500 pumpkins to choose from. There will also be costume and pumpkin carving contests, with prizes being given to winners throughout the day full of autumn delights.
Since Jupiter is located just miles away from the beach, having a beach picnic with friends is another popular activity you can include in your fall ambitions.
“When Jupiter’s weather becomes cooler, my friends and I will take snacks and blankets to the beach during sunset,” Callie Cyr, junior said. “We’ll bring small pumpkins to paint and carve together.”
Jupiter welcomes the fall season by showcasing seasonal flavors tantalizing the taste buds. Experience the freshness of locally sourced produce and delicious homemade treats at the nearby farmers’ markets. Those who adore pumpkin spice can indulge their passion at Jupiter’s charming cafes like Subculture in Harbourside or The Perk Coffee House in Tequesta.
“I love the pumpkin spiced coffees at Perk Coffee House, the staff always bring out a warm welcoming fall feeling during the season,” Maret said.
For those who love infusing the essence of fall into their kitchens with the cozy scents of autumn, baking is a must. Look into some local businesses and make some apple pies or pumpkin bread to fill your house with the comforting aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg.
“Trader Joe’s always offers so many seasonal treats and baking dishes that I make sure to get every year,” Maret said. “My family’s favorite fall tradition is baking together so we make sure to try all the new sweet treats offered.”
In Jupiter, fall fashion means light layers and comfortable outfits. With temperatures still warm, opt for light, breathable and soft sweaters during the day and a comfy pair of jeans at night. Ugg slippers have been in style recently making way for a stylish fall outfit.
“South Moon Under offers countless cute sweaters, jeans and fall attire that all are accountable for the Florida heat,” Maret said.
