Taylor Swift performed The Eras Tour at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Oct. 18, 19 and 20. This was Swift’s second and last performance of the Eras Tour in the state of Florida.
Hard Rock Stadium is home to the Miami Dolphins, located in Miami Gardens, and can house up to 65,326 fans.
Tickets were released in Aug. 2023 on TicketMaster for fans to put their name in a drawing. If your name was pulled, you were given a code to get into a queue and purchase your tickets.
There were many issues with TicketMaster due to an overflow of many of Swift’s fans. The mass amounts of people using TicketMaster led to the website and app crashing as a result of too many people trying to enter into the raffle.
“I actually did not get tickets until walking into the concert,” Callie Keller, sophomore, said. “We didn’t get tickets until Gracie started to perform and we ran to the stadium to make it for Taylor.”
The doors to the stadium opened at 3:30 pm letting in the crowd of people that lined up all around the block in preparation for the concert at 7 pm.
As guests entered, they were greeted with wristbands. After the tabs in the wristbands are pulled, it causes the wristband to emit light. Inside the wristbands is a tiny signal receptor which allows the operator to change the light’s colors. This creates designs with the light patterns throughout the sea of fans in the stadium.
“The lights at the concert were so vibrant and looked so cool since there were so many people there,” Ellery Weiss, a sophomore Swiftie, said.
On Oct.18, Swift came out in a new ‘Reputation’ bodysuit causing the crowd to go crazy, since this was the first time that she changed her Reputation era themed outfit throughout her entire tour. The new bodysuit was similar to the old black and red one, but the most distinctive change was the switch to a bold gold snake across it.
“I went to Miami night three, it was the best, I have seen her two other times. I was shocked that the bodysuit was so amazing” Keller said.
The concert goes through all of Swift’s albums, including her most recent album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ (TTPD). “Florida” is among the songs in the album, which is sung with Florence the Machine. Swift had Florence come out all three nights to perform this song. The crowd was ecstatic for this talented duo all 3 nights.
“I wasn’t expecting Florence to come out, so it was really exciting to see her and they sang so beautifully together,” said Weiss.
The opener for all of the Miami shows was Gracie Abrams. Abrams released her deluxe version of ‘The Secret of Us’ album, adding four new songs on Oct. 18. Abrams performed three of the new songs every night in Miami.
“It was one of the most dazzling nights ever, it was amazing to see in person,” Ava Christie, a sophomore lifelong Swiftie said.
Swift started the performance with singing songs from her album Lover and ended with her second most recent album, Midnights, following a progression of themes of sunshine to midnight rain.
“What a delight it is. To welcome you tonight. Miami Florida, welcome to the Eras Tour,” said Swift.
