Chromakopia is Tyler, The Creator’s newest album and fans argue that it’s undoubtedly one of the best albums he’s released. Chromakopia was released on Oct. 28 as Tyler’s eighth studio album and received over 85 million streams upon release.
The album’s 14 songs include “St. Chroma,” “Rah Tah Tah,” “Noid,” “Darling, I,” “Hey Jane,” “I Killed You,” Judge Judy,” “Sticky,” “Take Your Mask Off,” “Tomorrow,” “Thought I was Dead,” “Like Him,” “Balloon” and “I Hope You Find Your Way Home.”
“It’s pretty good but I think it’s very different from his other albums,” Maria Quinonez Camposeco, freshman and fan of Tyler, said.
As of Oct. 31, his song “St. Chroma” had 24.3 million streams and the album reached number one on Billboard 200. The songs on the album cover a variety of topics from being paranoid about fans trying to get personal information, to the fear of being a father.
“My favorite song is definitely ‘Judge Judy’ because the lyrics are good and the beat is the best,” Slater Woodard, sophomore and fan of Tyler, said.
“Judge Judy” talks about the relationship between Tyler and Judy, a fictional girl, from when they first meet to when they break up.
Other songs in the album have been well received. Although it’s Tyler’s eighth studio album, Chromakopia is one of his most popular records released. The placement of the songs in the album as well as the transitions between them really adds to Chromakopia.
“His albums, they’re all pretty good,” Quinonez Camposeco said. “But this one, the way the songs were written and choreographed is perfect.”
Tyler announced that he will be performing a Chromakopia Tour. The tour will start on Feb. 4, 2025 and will come to a close on Aug. 18, 2025.
“Chromakopia is one of Tyler’s greatest creations,” Woodard said.
