34th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show

The Palm Beach International Boat Show is one of the top five boat shows in the country. The 34th annual show took place on Flagler Dr. in West Palm Beach, Fla. from March 28 to March 31. Over 50,000 people attended to view and shop the collection of boats. The show featured over 1.2 billion dollars worth of yachts and accessories.

For those who attended the event just for viewing pleasure, the show offered many activities, including live music, refreshments, youth fishing clinics and VIP lounges. Vendors lined the streets, selling boating products and offering boat club memberships.

“I go to the show every year with my dad. It is really cool because you get to see the boating community in our area come together. This year I actually worked in the Freedom Boat Club booth, scheduling appointments for people to tour the boat club in Lake Park,” M.J. Bunn said.

For those who attended the show with hopes of purchasing a new boat, “there were vessels of every size available. Approximately 1,000 boats at this weekend’s show, 700 of them floating in the blue Intracoastal waters, range from 8-foot inflatables to large floating mansions,” Danny Grant, a show spokesman, said.

The boat that received the most attention during the weekend was the 238-foot super yacht, Coral Ocean, the boat is listed for $36.2 million dollars and holds up to 32 people including crew members. The boat was only able to be toured if guests were qualified and had a broker present.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show has been around since 1982, and remains the most unique boat show in the area for its convenience and variety.
