Athlete of the week: Joey Steinmetz
Jupiter High School’s Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 28 is senior Joey Steinmetz, a running back on the varsity football team that finished the season 6-4, their best record in 14 years.
Steinmetz has played football for eight years and has been on varsity for three.
“Being Athlete of the Week means I fulfilled my duty representing the football team,” Steinmetz said. “I am glad I was chosen because it’s a reflection of all the hard work I put into this season.”
Along with football, Steinmetz is also on the wrestling and weightlifting teams.
“Playing a school sport, going to school and having a social life can get really tough sometimes. By being athlete of the week means I am capable of getting my school work on time, never missing a practice and still have fun with my friends,” Steinmetz said.
