ESPORTS UPDATE We have started a Google Classroom to keep you up-to-date with the JHS Esport program progress. The code is: ni7pv5v – We are able to sponsor a team for the 2021 Digital Rube Goldberg Machine Minecraft Contest. You would have to have a computer at home that you could download Minecraft for EDU as we can not use our Chromebooks, yet. More information can be found in the Esports Google Classroom.

THIS HOLIDAY SEASON the Childhood Cancer support club is aiming to brighten up the days of many young cancer patients within South Florida; however, they need your help!  CCS will be hosting a Toy Drive from Monday, November 30th to Friday, December 11th.  Bring in any new, unwrapped toys in exchange for service hours.  All donations will be given to the pediatric cancer unit at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.  Thank you for your support!

THEATRE CLUB and International Thespian Society will be meeting today, November 18th at 3:00 over Google Meet. In the meeting we will be going over CRUCIAL information for the upcoming Thespian Districts Competition; all participants of the competition are REQUIRED to attend! GREEN TEAM TIP OF THE WEEK Try eating a vegetarian meal once a week. This reduces your impact on the environment. If you want to join the green club, visit them in room 3-108 during lunch A and B today.

WORLD ETHICS CLUB Please join us for the Meeting in Miss Ellis’ Room 4-118 today (11/18) after school if you’re interested in having nonpartisan discussions about global current events. The google classroom code is v7vk6bp.

SECME, The Society of Electrical, Chemical and Mechanical Engineers Club is having its first meeting after school in Rm 3-101 today (11/18). Come if you are interested in competing against other schools in a design competition this year. We are excited to see you there!

DUAL ENROLLMENT For students who are interested in the Program, Palm Beach State College is offering a Virtual Dual Enrollment Open House via Zoom on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6-7:30 pm.  The open house will provide interested families and students with information about earning college credit while in high school and the benefits of the program.  Families will have the opportunity to ask questions. The event will count towards the mandatory orientation requirement for students who are new to the dual enrollment program. WINTER GUARD AUDITIONS The band is holding Winter Guard auditions today (11/18), from 5- 8pm in the band room, 8-103. Please wear comfortable clothes to dance in. There is no experience necessary! Anybody can join! Please join the remind by texting @sojst to 81010. See you there!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS interested in being a part of the Social Studies Honor Society – If you have a 3.0 semester grade average in EVERY Social Studies course, a 3.0 overall GPA, and no out of school suspensions, apply! Online applications are available on your social studies teachers’ google classrooms. Hard copies can be found in Mrs. Hanssen’s Rm 5-112. All hard copies must be turned into the front office bin or to room 5-112 when completed. Seniors accepted last year  DO NOT need to reapply. Applications are due by 2:40 pm Friday (11/20).
