Congrats to the cross country teams who participated in the highly competitive Dr. Joaquin Garcia Invitational Saturday morning. Kate Hanssen placed 9th overall, followed by Juliet Baltrun, Kylie Godino, Toni Contento and Sadie Smith. Top finishers for the boys were Cash Ciliento, Connor Opton, Jaydn Schuetter, Bryce Kauppi, and Jacob Taylor. Their next meet will be Tuesday 9/12 at Carlin Park.

Great news, Warriors. H-J Photo will be on campus today for underclass yearbook pictures. Students in grades 9 through 11 will get photographed via their English class. To pre-order school pictures online, visit H-J Palm Beach dot com, search our school name and select “K-11 portraits.”

Attn all students interested in joining Interact club! You only have a few days left to pay your dues. The deadline is at the end of the school day on Sept. 14. All members are reminded to turn in a print copy of the membership forms on the Google classroom and pick up your t-shirt in P30.

Attention talented warriors! Would you like a chance to showcase your talent on stage? Well look no further! SGA is hosting a talent show on September 28th from 5pm to 7pm and you can be a part of it. Pre-register in room 4-106 by this Friday, September 15th. Once you apply, auditions will be held after school September 18th and 19th from 3-5pm. Attending one day is mandatory. There is a grand prize available if you win 1st place!

 

The Lounge Project is a new club at Jupiter High School that provides students the chance to meet new people, earn community service hours, and more. The first meeting will be tomorrow, September 14th in room 1-157, in the media center. Food will be provided.

 

Thinking about dinner tonight?  How about some Bolay? Bolay is partnering with Jupiter High School’s criminal justice academy to raise money for their students.  Go get your Bolay tonight from 4pm to 9pm and tell the cashier that you’re there to support JHS’s Criminal Justice Academy.

Starting next Tuesday, September 19, the drama club will begin set designing for our spring musical, Into the Woods. If you are interested in getting involved in the backstage process, please come to room 9-106 on September 19 after school.

 

The JHS Christian League is off to a beautiful start with over 20 students coming to our first meeting last Thursday. Come be a part of the most inspirational club on campus and join us Thursday morning at 7:10 in Portable 3. Bring a friend!!!

Attention all prospective Key Club Members: You must have your application submitted to Mr. Struckmeyer in Portable 38 and have paid your dues by today, September 13 to be a Key Club member for the year!

 

First priority will be having another meeting this Thursday during both lunches in 2111. Come hear an inspirational message, and play fun games with a positive vibe.

 

Looking for a club that will give you an opportunity to help others and earn community service hours? Join the Children’s Hunger Fund club!  In this club, we will organize fundraisers and raise awareness for the Children’s Hunger Fund, a national organization that addresses children’s hunger globally. Their first meeting will be in room 6-208 today, September 13th. They will have a meeting for those interested during both lunches. The Google Classroom code is Q-W-Z-H-S-N-2.

Everyone is invited to join the Computer Science Honor Society. The purpose of this organization is to encourage students’ enthusiasm for computer science, to honor academic excellence, and to promote service. A short introductory meeting will be today, September 13th at 2:50 pm in Room 4-214 or online through CSHS Google Classroom Meet link. The google classroom Code is five-three-K-Y-G-three-K.  The application is on the Google Classroom and is due by Friday September 29th.  It’s open to Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. You must have taken and passed one Computer Science class. You also must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.  If you are interested in signing up for the AFA CyberPatriot Competition please attend the CSHS meeting.

 

National English Honor Society applicants have been selected. Please swing by 1-155 to confirm your account, get the google classroom code, and provide information. Congratulations! Please see Mrs. Sparks in room 1-155 during periods 1-6 and/or both lunches with any questions.

At this time all passes have been distributed. Parking Passes are a privilege.   Please understand that if you have been assigned lunch detention for tardies or ID violations you will be in jeopardy of losing your parking spot.  There are many students on the waitlist who would be more than happy to have your spot.  Be on time to class and have your ID.  If you have any questions please email Mrs. Rick.

 

Homecoming contracts are available during both lunches.  Tickets will be on sale starting September 18th.  You must have a contract to purchase a homecoming ticket.  Watch out for more homecoming information coming soon!

Mrs. Rivera in Portable 27 and Mrs. Hand in guidance  are now collecting gently used homecoming dresses to feature in our Helping Hands Dress Boutique.  If you have any dresses you’d like to donate, we’d love to have them!  From Tuesday September 12th THROUGH FRIDAY – September 22 you can bring dresses that you’d like to  donate to  – Mrs. Hand – in guidance or Mrs. Rivera in Portable 27.  Tell all your friends about this amazing opportunity to earn service hours and provide the perfect homecoming dress to just the right girl! Homecoming is just a month away!  Community service hours will be given for the time spent collecting dresses!

 

Attention seniors interested in applying for the prestigious Palm Beach Post Pathfinder Awards. If you would like more information on the application process and/or the awards in general, stop by the media center this Friday, Sept. 15, during 7th period. Pathfinder applications are available in guidance and are due by Tuesday, Sept. 26.

In need of community service? HOSA is hosting a hygiene kit drive for the month of September. We are looking for items such as mini deodorant, feminine products, shampoo and conditioners, disposable razors, etc. All items will be sent to Holy Ground PBC, a homeless shelter for pregnant women and their children. Earn hours by assembling kits and turning them into room 7-101 by September 22nd. Be sure your donation bag has your name, grade, student number, and number of items. Come support a great cause!
