Congratulations to the Boy’s Golf Team on their victory over Palm Beach Gardens High School on Monday afternoon. Tristan Wieland’s 34 and Wil Jun’s 35 led the warriors to a 2 stroke win and kept them undefeated for the season.

 

Jupiter High School is pleased to announce five senior SEMIFINALIST standing in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Those SEMIFINALISTS are Lucas Groves, Connor Johnston, Jonathan Rusczyk, Shoichiro Terazawa, and Aden Vargas.  Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements, these include completing an application, having a consistently very high academic record, writing an essay, being endorsed and recommended by a school official, and taking the SAT® or ACT® and earning a score that confirms the PSAT/NMSQT performance. National Merit Selects 16,000 finalists of the participants. Approximately half of all Finalists win a scholarship.  CONGRATULATIONS to our seniors and best of luck!!

The Mental Health Awareness Club will be making informational posters for Suicide Prevention Month! We will meet after school today, September 14th, in Mrs. Guzick’s room 7-212. Join us in raising awareness for an important cause and get community service hours for attending! For more information, join MHA’s Google Classroom with the code: H-five-W-G-D-P-Y.

 

Morgan’s Message is a new international club at Jupiter High that focuses on eliminating the stigma around mental health for student athletes. Learn ways to cope with stress and meet new friends.  The first meeting will be this Thursday the 14th during Lunch A in Portable 6.  Non-Athletes are always welcome.  Dunkin Donuts will also be provided.  See you there!

The Lounge Project is a new club at Jupiter High School that provides students the chance to meet new people, earn community service hours and more. Their first meeting is today, September 14th in room 1-157, in the media center. Food will be provided.

 

SGA is having a fundraiser at Bolay this Friday! Stop by the Bolay located on Indiantown road and grab a bite to eat anytime from 4 to 9pm and tell the cashier you are there to support JHS’s SGA! This applies to call-in orders as well! Hope to see you there.

Attention talented warriors! Would you like a chance to showcase your talent on stage? Well look no further! SGA is hosting a talent show on September 28th from 5pm to 7pm and you can be a part of it. Pre-register in room 4-106 by this Friday, September 15th. Once you apply, auditions will be held after school September 18th and 19th from 3-5pm. Attending one day is mandatory. There is a grand prize available if you win 1st place!

 

Starting next Tuesday, September 19, the drama club will begin set designing for our spring musical, Into the Woods. If you are interested in getting involved in the backstage process, please come to room 9-106 on September 19 after school.

 

Tech applications for the Thespians Showcase are officially open! We are looking for individuals interested in stage management, lights, and sound. To apply, please fill out the Tech Application Form on the Drama Club Google Classroom, or see Ms. Knight in room 9-106. Please apply by September 22!

Homecoming contracts are now available during both lunches.  Tickets will be on sale starting Monday, September 18th.  You must have a contract to purchase a homecoming ticket.  Watch out for more homecoming information coming soon!

 

Attention seniors interested in applying for the prestigious Palm Beach Post Pathfinder Awards. If you would like more information on the application process and/or the awards in general, stop by the media center this Friday, September 15th, during 7th period. Pathfinder applications are available in guidance and are due by Tuesday, September 26th.

First priority will be having another meeting this Thursday during both lunches in 2111. Come hear an inspirational message, a fun game and positive vibes.

 

Attention JHS Students: Our first blood drive of the school year will be on Thursday, September 21st in the Auditorium. All students 16 years and older are welcome to donate and will receive community service hours, snacks, pizza, and a t-shirt. You can sign up at the table in the courtyard during lunch A or B. Or feel free to sign up in Miss Ellis’ Room 4-118. Let’s save some lives!

Jupiter High’s HOSA is participating in a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s hospital! We will be raising money for St. Jude, and participating in their annual 5k Walk / Run on September 23rd! Community service hours will be given for volunteering time on race day, time spent fundraising, and participation in the 5k. All interested must complete the signup form on HOSA’s google classroom. You can join HOSA’s Google Classroom with the code Z-M-R-T-Q-J-P and join the 5k remind by texting @stjudehosa to 81010.

National English Honor Society applicants have been selected. Please swing by 1-155 to confirm your account, get the google classroom code, and provide information. Congratulations! Please see Mrs. Sparks in room 1-155 during periods 1-6 and/or both lunches with any questions.

 

Juniors and Seniors who are interested in joining the Science National Honor Society please join the Google Classroom using the following codes for further directions.   Last year’s junior, now seniors do NOT need to reapply or join the classroom, you should already be in the classroom. The google classroom for juniors is five-two-R-V-S-R-V and for seniors, the google classroom code is Z-T-Z-J-U-H-H

Come join the Infectious Diseases Prevention Club’s next meeting on Wednesday, September 20th during both lunches. Bring you and your friends. Lunch A will be in 4-118 and Lunch B will be in 6-214. Come learn about this month’s disease and do a fun activity with us.

 

At this time all passes have been distributed. Parking Passes are a privilege.   Please understand that if you have been assigned lunch detention for tardies or ID violations you will be in jeopardy of losing your parking spot.  There are many students on the waitlist who would be more than happy to have your spot.  Be on time to class and have your ID.  If you have any questions please email Mrs. Rick.

Mrs. Rivera in Portable 27 and Mrs. Hand in guidance  are now collecting gently used homecoming dresses to feature in our Helping Hands Dress Boutique.  If you have any dresses you’d like to donate, we’d love to have them!  From Tuesday September 12th THROUGH FRIDAY – September 22 you can bring dresses that you’d like to  donate to  – Mrs. Hand – in guidance or Mrs. Rivera in Portable 27.  Tell all your friends about this amazing opportunity to earn service hours and provide the perfect homecoming dress to just the right girl! Homecoming is just a month away!  Community service hours will be given for the time spent collecting dresses!

Want to join one of the best clubs on campus? Join the cook and bake club, where we make anything from sweet treats, to savory meals for all of the school’s favorite events! Our first bake sale will be at the Homecoming Carnival where we’ll sell some of our treats. Last year we raised over $500 at the carnival so don’t miss out! Don’t know if you’re 100% sure? Come join us at our first meeting September 19th after school in Ms. De Sena’s room (2-114). Where we’ll have crumbl for everyone who shows up.  Don’t forget to join the Google Classroom using the code Z-C-A-H-X-three-S for updates on all of our latest projects!

In need of community service? HOSA is hosting a hygiene kit drive for the month of September. We are looking for items such as mini deodorant, feminine products, shampoo and conditioners, disposable razors, etc. All items will be sent to Holy Ground PBC, a homeless shelter for pregnant women and their children. Earn hours by assembling kits and turning them into room 7-101 by September 22nd. Be sure your donation bag has your name, grade, student number, and number of items. Come support a great cause!
