OVER THE SHOULDER

((MARCELLE))

From September 15th to October 15th, it’s National Hispanic Heritage Month.  National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United States.  Each day, we will share an important figure within the community to you.  Today we celebrate Roberto Clemente.  Roberto Clemente was one of a kind. He contributed to major league baseball’s successful integration of Latino players long before the United States recognized it needed to develop sensitivity for multiculturalism.

Today is the last day AP Spanish students will be selling handmade bracelets for $7 during both lunches. They also have a limited number handwoven bags, or bolsitas, for $15. All items come with a tag that is signed by the artisan with a photo or information of where it was made. 100% of the proceeds are given back to the charity to directly benefit those workers. Help us to support these workers in Guatemala and Nicaragua!
