From September 15th to October 15th, it’s National Hispanic Heritage Month.  National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United States.  Each day, we will share an important figure within the community to you.  Today we celebrate Ruth Gonzalez.  Ruth Gonzalez is an expert in seismic imaging methods. Working with seismic data collected on the surface of the earth, she develops algorithms that perform calculations to produce images of the underlying geology. Since 1980, she has applied this technology to help discover oil and gas reservoirs for Exxon.

JHS boys’ soccer tryouts for JV and Varsity for the 23-24 school year will begin on Monday, October 16th and run through Friday October 20th from 3-5 pm at the Jupiter Community Park.  Players should plan to participate all 5 days for the tryouts.  All athletic paperwork must be submitted via AKTIVATE and must be approved prior to participation.  The portal for AKTIVATE is open and paperwork is being checked regularly.  Please check on your status after submission.  Green equals fully cleared, yellow equals pending, and red equals there is a problem with a submission.  Please note, if your paperwork is denied in any capacity, you will receive an email from the system outlining the issue.  If you have more specific questions related to tryouts, please contact head coach Kevin Allahar via email.    For questions about paperwork, please contact Athletic Director, Scott Selvidge.
