From September 15th to October 15th, it’s National Hispanic Heritage Month.  National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United States.  Each day, we will share an important figure within the community to you.  Lastly we’re celebrating Rita Moreno. Rita Moreno has been a household name for decades, ever since she captivated audiences with her fierce portrayal of Anita in 1961’s West Side Story. Moreno would go on to cement her name in history by winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for the role, becoming the first Hispanic American woman to win an Academy Award.

Spirit week is not over yet!  The homecoming carnival, with food trucks and games, is tonight from 4:30pm to 6pm, followed by the football game starting at 6:30.  Our Warriors will be taking on the Palm Beach Lake’s Rams.  Make sure to dress in J-H-S colors to show your school spirit.

And of course, it’s just not a high school football game without the marching band.  We’d like to take a moment to shine a little spotlight on Jupiter High’s band who recently competed in their first competition of the season.
