Congratulations to the cross country teams who competed in the Palm Beach County Championships Thursday. The boys placed 10th overall. The boys team was led by Cash Ciliento, closely followed by Connor Opton. Other top finishers were Jacob Taylor, Grady O’She, and Jadyn Schuettler.  The girls team placed 5th overall. Kate Hanssen led the team with her 6th place finish. Other top finishers were Juliet Baltran, Toni Contento, Kylie Godino and Jaden Burke. A special shout out to Stephny Mateo, who was a top 10 finisher in the JV division. The teams will compete at the District Championships next Thursday.

All girls and boys interested in trying out for the upcoming tennis season, we will be having a brief meeting right after school in room 4-106 on Tuesday, November 14th.  If you plan on trying out, you need to be there to receive the information regarding the date of tryouts and the eligibility packet through AKTIVATE.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact either Coach Lang or Coach Babcock.  The google classroom code is X-Y-R-H-M-M-five.

The Jupiter JROTC Raiders competed against the other JROTC units in the area on Saturday.  Once again, they unleashed their Warrior Spirit on their opponents.  So far this year, the female team has been on a roll at every competition.  The female team has been crushing every one of their rivals in the area that includes Palm Beach, St Lucie, and Okeechobee counties.  They’re also the best female team in the district so far.  This weekend, the male teams encountered many challenges.  From team members not being able to make it, having to make changes within the teams, and the difficulties placed on them on the course, they came together and placed Jupiter in 2nd place overall in the male category.  They crushed every male team in the district.  This Saturday the teams will compete at Port St Lucie High School in a state qualifier in order to earn a spot in the State Raider competition being held on December 2nd at USF in Tampa.  Warriors Rock the house.  If you see any of these cadets, please congratulate them.  Well done Raiders.

On Friday, November 3 at 6pm, come to Drama Club’s Thespian Showcase to see what our troupe members are planning to take to the Districts theatre competition. Performances will include various songs from musicals, and monologues and scenes from an assortment of plays. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission. Cash only. Teachers get in free. Support our wonderful actors!

And calling all actors, techies, and Grimm’s Fairy Tale characters! Ms. Knight and the drama club will be holding auditions for “Into the Woods”, open to the entire school, on November 13 and 14 in the drama classroom, Room 9-106. Auditions will be from 3 to 5 pm, and you must prepare a song from the musical to sing, for the character you’d like to play, OR any song in the same theme or range as that character. You will also read lines provided by Ms. Knight during auditions to show your acting ability. You will also need to see Ms. Knight for a permission slip before the auditions, and to turn it in either before or during auditions.
