Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. Black History Month was created to focus attention on the contributions of African Americans to the United States.

((HARPER))

All this month we will be featuring members of the African-American and Afro-Latino communities, showcasing their achievements and accomplishments.  Today we celebrate local resident Michael Jordan.  Micheal Jordan is an American former professional basketball player. He played for the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. He is argued as the greatest basketball player of all time, winning 6 NBA championships and holding many records at the time. He is also a businessman, co-owning the Charlotte Hornets, owning the NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, and is partnered with many popular brands, such as Nike, Hanes, and Gatorade.
