SPEECH & DEBATE This weekend, we had two first place winners in Congressional Debate: Lily Miller and Kelly Gibbs, and our third place winner in oral interpretation was Jordan Vassallo.

HALLOWEEN FOOD DRIVE 1 can = 1 hour. There’s a food drive this Saturday, Halloween, from 9 am – 11 am in the JHS Gym Parking Lot. Leave food cans in your trunk or drop off food cans in Rm 4-112.

DECA DECISION WEEK (10/26 to 10/29) If you are in DECA and need help deciding your competition event for this year, join the Google Meet at 4 PM on the DECA Google Classroom. This is where you can ask officers questions, receive advice, and try sample events everyday through Thursday.

HOSA Do you want to join the largest career oriented club on campus? Do you want to explore a career in healthcare? Do you want to learn how to be a leader? Then you should join HOSA. HOSA is having its second general meeting today (10/27) at 2:45 in the auditorium. All current and prospective members are welcome to attend. The meeting will also be live streamed. CHILDHOOD CANCER SUPPORT CLUB If you or someone you know has been affected by childhood cancer, please consider joining this Club at Jupiter High School. CHOSP CLUB If you are interested in collecting items for our local children’s hospital while also earning community service hours, please join our new club: The Children’s Hospital Volunteer Club. GIRLS WEIGHTLIFTING Any girls grades 9-12 interested in being a part of the 2020-2021 Team needs to join the Girls Weightlifting Google Classroom by using the code: zkhpmod. A completed Athletic Eligibility Packet is due to Coach Kenerson by October 28th, 2020.

STUDENTS AGAINST MELANOMA Club members – The next meeting of the SAM club will be on Wednesday, October 28th at 3:30pm. We will be announcing a fun sun safety video contest with prizes so all members should attend – the video is a community service opportunity and will earn you hours. See you then!

LATINOS IN ACTION ESOL TUTORING – Attention ESOL Students, If you need help with your homework, please come and join us on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45-3:45 pm in room 1-163 in the Media Center. Hope to see you there! And don’t forget to donate unwrapped toys for Latinos In Action’s Project Toys for Tots to Guatemala. Bring your donation to the courtyard from 7-7:30 am for 2 community service hours for each toy donated. Gracias!

SOCTOBER Bring in Brand NEW pairs of socks and receive community service hours. Drop off socks to Portable 1 before October 31st and receive a trick or treat!

JUPITER POLICE DEPARTMENT COPS TEENS TALK The Program is starting back up in person and with a new schedule and location! It will now be held every 2nd Tuesday at 3:15 PM in the NEW police department located next to the Community Center in the JPD Community Room.  The program is an opportunity for you to meet your local police officers and discuss topics that are important to high school teens like you. Topics may include: personal wellbeing, personal safety, mental illness, school safety, drugs and alcohol addiction, police interactions, social media, bullying, and more.  Come build relationships, enjoy some food as well as earn community service hours. We will be taking extra safety precautions. Areas will be thoroughly sanitized, social distancing will be practiced, and masks will be mandatory unless eating.
