This is Banned Books Week, an annual celebration of the freedom to read. This year’s theme, Books Unite Us, Censorship Divides Us.

SGA NEWS

THE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK is William Nuneville. He is a senior who is a captain on the cross country team. William also is the sports manager for the football team. William is a fine young man who is a positive role model to his peers. He always is on time and always gets his work done with a smile. Thank you William for representing what a warrior is!

THE TEACHER OF THE WEEK is Mrs. Muncy! Ericka Muncy is an amazing teacher at Jupiter High School, and she is more than deserving of the teacher of the week award. She is in charge of many programs and clubs such as War Cry and Yearbook, and she is amazing at leading students through all of them. She is super nice and always make sure that her students are doing well, and it is an honor to have her as a teacher

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Your freshman winner is an amazing student; he is extremely academically motivated and always elevates class discussions to an elite level. Pleasant, respectful, and genuinely amazing human being who takes the time out of his day to always say hello and to have a nice day after class ends! Doesn’t hurt that he is also a great student academically, and his name is Charles Frasca! Congratulations!

Your sophomore winner is a very hard worker. Even when students near him are distracted, he tries to get all he can out of the lesson for the day. He actively calls to mind what he has learned in previous classes to apply it to the day’s work, and he participates respectfully in class discussions. Way to go! Congratulations to… Daniel Sanchez!

Your junior winner has a smile and upbeat personality that brightens up the class. She is also a conscientious AP student that works hard. She always participates in class and asks insightful questions. Congratulations to…  Lillian McGrath!

Your senior winner. She is very engaged and interested in class and off to a great start with a 97%. She also is always willing to participate in class discussions. Congratulations to Stella Morris! 

CONGRATULATIONS to the girls cross country team for their first place finish in last week’s meet at Dyer park and to Toni Contento as race champion running her fastest time of 20:46.  Emily McGrail, Juliet Baltrun, Nina Hughes, and Sofia Mazzota all were right behind to knock out Benjamin by 2 points.  Special shout out to the following running their season best:  Katie Anglim, Jackie Biondo, Magdalena Beffenmeyer, Maddie Delong, Grace Demone, Jamie Dozer, Scout Edwards, Emma Haake, Ella Jesteadt, Angie Jurado, Aria Johnson Brooke Matus, Piper Palmieri, Kylie Radi, Lauren Rowley, Sydney Shaffer, Karen Song, and Sloan Vulgaris.  Awesome race ladies!

FIRST PRIORITY (the Christian club) will meet this Tuesday, Sept. 28th in room 6-207 during B lunch.  Come and experience the joyful fellowship peace.

THE STUDY CLUB Do you need a quiet place to study or do homework? Come to the Study Club after school on Mondays from 2:45-3:45 in Room 5-112. The club will start on Monday, October 4th. 

MY FRIENDS CLOSET will be meeting virtually on Friday, Oct. 1 to introduce the club and discuss upcoming clothing drives! The club offers tons of community service opportunities to all students! WORLD ETHICS CLUB If you are interested in being exposed to new ideas and talking about current events in an inclusive and respectful environment, the World Ethics Club might be for you! THE JOHNSON TAKE STOCK PROGRAM 9th Grade Students and their Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend this virtual information session for a College Readiness, Mentor, Scholarship Program on September 30th, 6:00 pm on Google Meet Link: (https://meet.google.com/ghh-nysv-wsv) Get that extra push to graduate ready for college and possibly receive a Two Year Florida College Prepaid Scholarship for completing the program. Come join this 30-minute meeting to see if you qualify for this amazing opportunity. The application will be available in the meeting. We hope to see you there!

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2025 THAT’S YOU, FRESHMEN! We will be outside the cafeteria this week with your Class T-shirts. You must have paid your class dues of $50 in order to receive your shirt. There will be a google form there if you are interested in becoming a class officer.

JUNIORS you can now pay your class dues online at https://palmbeach.schoolcashonline.com/. Additionally, you can pay in person through cash or check to Mr. Kovachik in Room 4-110. Checks can be made to Jupiter High School. Once you pay for your shirt, you can get a complimentary class t-shirt. Additional t-shirts can be bought for $20 each.

WRESTLING Anyone interested in joining the JHS Wrestling Team and didn’t make last Friday’s meeting need to meet in the cafeteria on Thursday (9/30) at 3:00 pm for important information about the season.

HOMECOMING COURT NOMINATIONS are open until Wednesday, September 29th. Homecoming Final Elections will run after Nominations.
