CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Cross Country Team, Toni Contento, Avery Muse, Alexa Hanssen, Juliet Baltrun, Gracie Sanford, Emma Haake, and Nina Hughes), for placing 3rd in yesterday’s District Championship.  Toni Contento brought home a 4th place medal and Avery Muse a 6th place medal.  Wish the ladies good luck in Regionals which will take place 11/6 in Kissimmee.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Jupiter’s Boys and Girls Swim Team on winning first place at the District Championship. To just name a few swimmers who won their events we have Kiara Caamano, Lilly Bermudez, Heidi Smithwick, Ella Adams and Kaitlyn Demaria, And for the boys, Alex Nunez, Tanner Zilch, Brandon Hiebert and Hudson Bishop. Congratulations to all swimmers who attended and who will move on to Regionals next week.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL beat Spanish River Wed. night in straight sets to advance to the Regional Semifinal. This sets up a rematch with Fort Pierce Central next Wednesday at 7pm at JHS.

CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Emery and the Boys Bowling team, they won the District Championship yesterday and will advance to States along with Breanna Grudinsky who qualified individually for the girls. Justin Nowakowski finished 2nd as an individual as well.

JUPITER HIGH SCHOOL FESTIVAL OF BANDS We have added more volunteering spots to the Festival of Bands PM shift for students who would like community service hours. We’re up to 25 bands from neighboring counties and are the largest event in the State of Florida for marching band regionals. As hosts, our very own Spirit of Jupiter will be playing last at 8:45 pm. WARRIOR CAFE BAKE SALE our Culinary Arts Academy Fundraiser will be in the courtyard for both lunches Wed.-Fri. selling delicious cupcakes, brownies, cookie pie and cake slices, and french fries.  Thank you for your support!

SENIORS interested in learning more about how to complete the George Snow Fund Scholarship Application  may sign up in the guidance office to attend the meeting on 11/4 at 9 am.  The George Snow Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance and support services to scholarship recipients so they have the resources they need to thrive academically.  Seniors only, please sign up in guidance to attend the scholarship information session to be held on 11/4 at 9 am.

MISS BUSCEMI’S SPANISH 2 CLASSES are participating in the Pulsera Project. This is sponsored by a charity that partners with schools to sell hand woven bracelets and purses made by artisans in Guatemala and Nicaragua, and in turn the students learn about life and social justice issues in Central America. Bracelets cost $5 and the bags cost $10. Each one comes with a tag specifying which artisan created it and they all have unique designs. We will be selling them during both lunches in the courtyard from 11/1-11/12.

GIVE LESS FORTUNATE children in our community joy this Holiday Season and join the National Honor Society in their support for Toys For Tots.  NHS is collecting new, unwrapped toys now through December 12.  Toys for children 10+ are highly needed, but toys for all ages are appreciated.  No realistic-looking weapons or food, please. Earn 2 community service hours and make a huge impact on the children in this county. The drop-off box is in front of the school or you can bring it to Mrs. Sparks’ room 1-155.

SAM CLUB MEMBERS: Community service alert!  Weather permitting, we will be cleaning the beach and passing out sunscreen tomorrow, 10/30.  Meet at 10am at Carlin for donuts. See you in the sun – SAFELY!  🙂

HELP US RAISE MONEY for Children’s Miracle Network at Shands Hospital by purchasing a Pura Vida Bracelet for yourself or your significant other. Pura Vida Bracelets are handcrafted by artisans around the world and are as unique as the person wearing them. These Bracelets cost $8 and were special ordered and designed by  Grace Lavallee & Marin McCammon, our overall captains for Dance Marathon. ATTENTION 9TH GRADERS! The Johnson Take Stock Program will be recruiting on campus during both lunches on November 2. Students must be in 9th grade, with a 2.8 GPA or higher, no behavior referrals, strong attendance, crime and drug free, financial need. This program is a 4 year program and benefits include a weekly mentor, a College Readiness Coach, college tours, ACT/SAT Bootcamps, a Florida Prepaid scholarship and many other services. If you are interested in applying, come see the representatives during both lunches on November 2 in the courtyard to get the application and learn more about the program which partners with Palm Beach County School District.

THE HISPANIC HERITAGE FOUNDATION’S 2021 Youth Awards educational grants program is now accepting applications from  the graduating Class of 2022  for up to $4000 to fund their higher educationt. (Criteria: currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2022, minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA, enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2022-2023, Be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines), a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under DACA.) The deadline to apply is November 14th, 2021. Students can apply at www.HispanicHeritage.org.

LATINOS IN ACTION is collecting travel size bottles of soap, as well as bars of soap for students and families of Jupiter Elementary. We will be in the courtyard  from  7-7:25 am thru Nov. 3. Help them achieve their goal of 300 donations and receive community service hours.

NAHS Applications for the 2021-22 National Art Honor Society are open and can be found on the NAHS Google Site (https://sites.google.com/palmbeachschools.org/national-art-honor-society/membership). Scan the QR codes located on posters around the school. Students must have 3.0 in their art classes, be in 10th grade or higher and participate in school exhibitions.
