TO ALL STUDENTS OF JUPITER HIGH SCHOOL THAT FANCY THEMSELVES SANTA Childhood Cancer Support Club is holding a holiday toy drive for pediatric cancer patients for the winter holidays. This is different from the National Honor Society toy drive, but every toy counts so even if you bring in one or two toys for each drive, you are doing something wonderful for the kids. Please drop off your new, unwrapped toys to Mrs. Rodgers room 7-208 any time before December 10.  Community service hours will be given for shopping and or helping us organize.  Please check out our flyer for exclusions. Thank you so much for contributing!

JUPITER CHRISTIAN LEAGUE Start the Holiday season off with a biblical message this Thursday morning in Portable 3 at 7:10 in the morning. Let’s get spiritually prepared for Jesus’s birthday!!!  All students and staff are welcome.

SOFTBALL Pre-season conditioning starts next Tuesday, December 7th at 3:15 out at the softball field. Eligibility packets need to be completed and turned in to Coach Ahern in Portable 3. If you have any questions about trying out for softball come by Portable 3 as well.

WRESTLING All female students interested in joining the wrestling team this season stop by and see Coach Hans or Ms. Jalm for more information.

SOUTH FLORIDA IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF BLOOD DONATIONS If you are looking for a way to give back as the holidays approach, please consider helping out by donating blood. Jupiter High will have a blood drive ON CAMPUS during the school day on Tuesday, December 14th. Anyone 16 years and older can donate! By donating you will receive a free t-shirt, snacks, pizza, and community service hours. We will begin sign ups next Monday, December 6th in the courtyard during both lunches. If you can’t make it to the lunch sign-ups, feel free to pop by Miss Ellis’ Room 4-118 to sign up or to get more information! Let’s save some lives this December!

ASTRONOMERS, There will be a star party on Dec. 14, 6:30 to 8:30 in the Daniel’s Way parking lot… weather permitting.  

JUNIOR GIRLS interested in representing JHS in the Annual Girls State Conference there will be an informational meeting on Thursday, Dec. 2nd during both lunches. Pick up an application in Guidance from Mrs. DeCabia prior to the meeting. Girls State allows young ladies to participate and familiarize themselves with the process of forming local, county, and state-level governments, plus gain an understanding of how political parties work. Representatives will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Tallahassee, where they will tour the capital and stay on campus at Florida State University. Each delegate has the opportunity to receive three hours of college credit. This is a leadership opportunity that will help resume building for further college and academy opportunities.

MEET THE SCIENTIST The next lecture is this Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 7 pm in the JHS Auditorium with Roulin Fan, Ph.D., Max Planck Florida, TRACING THE MESSENGERS IN BRAIN CELLS: FROM MOLECULES TO MEMORY

SGA will be hosting a Riverbend cleanup this Saturday from 10am-1pm. This will be located at Riverbend Park in Jupiter Farms. Come help clean our parks and save wildlife! All attendees will get pizza and community service hours.

SPIRIT WEEK IS NEXT WEEK! Monday, December 6, is Pajama Day, and Hot Cocoa will be given out in the courtyard. Tuesday is ugly sweater day, Wednesday is twin day, Thursday is class color day, and Friday is New Years Best, complete with a ball drop in the atrium.

THIS WEEK IN SPORTS Girls Basketball and Girls Soccer play tonight at home. We’re trying something new for ticket requests! For all home games from now until winter break, tickets are available for purchase. You will still use the Athletics Linktree to access a Google Document with individual links for each event. DECA is holding a fundraiser for families in need. They are collecting non-perishable canned goods and community service hours will be awarded for the time spent collecting your items. There are bins for drop off in front of the office, in the school store, or in room 4-106. Donations will be accepted up until winter break.

JUPITER HIGH’S LITTLE SMILES CLUB will be meeting this Thursday at 2:45 in room 4-110. All are welcome. They will be discussing upcoming volunteer opportunities and the Little Smiles holiday toy drive. For those interested in making a toy donation, boxes are located in Mrs. Muncy’s room, 4-110, Coach Mook’s room, 6-215, and Mrs. Hansen’s room, 4-206. Toys must have a value of at least $10. Visit the Little Smiles Holiday Toy Drive 2021 Wishlist on Amazon for ideas. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Muncy or Magnolia Lang, the club’s president.

NATIONAL  SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY is accepting New members who MUST currently be enrolled in a Spanish 3 course or higher, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in your Spanish courses, and have an OVERALL average of at least 3.4. TO APPLY,  fill out the candidate application form in Google Classroom (code: cm76bja). All Seniors who applied last year and were accepted will automatically stay on board.  Applications are due Monday, December 6th.  Our monthly meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

WARRIOR GUIDES There is a mandatory meeting today, December 1st, right after school in the media center beginning at 2:45.  If you’re unable to attend, please contact Mrs. Hand for the Google meet code. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a warrior guide, a student ambassador who assists new students in acclimating to Jupiter High School, contact Mrs. Hand at [email protected]. PLEASE SUPPORT BEST BUDDIES by dining at Culver’s today (12/1) between 4:00-8:00 pm.  Our club will receive 10% of the proceeds of the night.  Peer buddies, this would be a great time to meet up with your buddy!  Thanks for your support. 

FLAG FOOTBALL We will have “open field” practices on the practice field today (Wednesday) after school from 3-4:30pm. You must have your athletic eligibility packet approved and on file with the athletic director before you can participate. THE RONALD MCDONALD CLUB is hosting a pull tab holiday contest drive in first period classes. You can get them from soda or any other cans. This club’s mission is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. You can drop off the pull tabs from your first period class in room 4-116. They need to be washed, bagged, and labeled with the number of tabs inside. Please have your first period teacher’s name and room number labeled on the submissions. The class that collects the most pull tabs will get baked goods. Start collecting now! Turn in your pull tabs by January 6, 2022. 

NHS is collecting new, unwrapped toys through December 12.  Toys for children 10+ are highly needed, but toys for all ages are appreciated.  No realistic-looking weapons or food, please. Earn 2 community service hours and make a huge impact on the children in this county. The drop-off box is in front of the school or you can bring it to Mrs. Sparks’ room 1-155.

ATTENTION ESOL STUDENTS If you need extra help with any of your classes or homework assignments, please attend our ESOL tutoring offered every day after school in the media center from 2:45-4:45pm, starting today, November 29.  Snacks will be provided and anyone who attends will be entered into a drawing for great prizes.
