WARRIOR PRIDE – CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WARRIORS OF THE WEEK ANTHONY CARBONI & JONATHAN RUSCZYK!

“MY MOST INFLUENTIAL TEACHER” THE FETTERMAN & ASSOCIATES SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT awards scholarships to five college-bound high school seniors. The program focuses on student development and teacher influence/appreciation. Each student is required to submit an application together with an original essay entitled “My Most Influential Teacher”.  Five student winners will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Each winning student and chosen teacher will be honored at the award presentation ceremony. Completed applications and essays must be received no later than midnight, March 15, 2022. TENNIS If you plan on trying out for the TENNIS team, there will be a MANDATORY meeting on January 6.  This meeting is not optional if you are going to be trying out. We will be meeting right after school in room 4-212. All paperwork must also be submitted NO LATER THAN JANUARY 6.

WARRIOR ARTISTS are having a big week! These students were selected to represent JHS in the Winter Art Dazzle Virtual Exhibition this year! FIRST PRIORITY First Priority wants to celebrate with you. Join us for pizza, a game, and a special Christmas message this upcoming Tuesday, December 14th, during B lunch, feel free to come by the porch area just outside the art rooms if you´re interested in hearing about the reason for the season. PROJECT GRADUATION 2022 – CHICKEN DINNER FUNDRAISER Help sell $15 chicken dinners tickets to anyone you know. Track your time selling for Community Service Hours. A Selling contest is coming so you can win a prize. Forms were distributed to Teachers and will be posted on The JHS Website, Social Media, and Google Classroom.  Those purchasing can pay by cash or check dropped off to the front office or via school cash online (anyone from the public can access this item). BEST BUDDIES If you haven’t picked up your club t-shirt yet, please stop by Rm 7-110 before school or during Lunch B to pick it up.

EARLY RELEASE FORM FOR DEC. 22 Students wishing to leave following the conclusion of the 7th-hour testing block on Wednesday, Dec. 22nd will need to have an approved Early Release Form in order to exit campus. A copy of the Early Release form is linked here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GomBPiBQ0U3AZe9QbwYAO0oRPRgOPDzdwdK4OI2YLQw/edit?usp=sharing. Forms must be completed in advance and submitted to Student Services by the end of the day on Monday, Dec. 20th, 2021. All forms will need to be verified ahead of time with a parent phone call. Verified forms will be returned to 7th-period teachers by Wednesday morning for distribution to students.

NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY This is a reminder to all members, you have until December 22nd to pay your dues. Information is on google classroom. Please see Ms. K or President Calvin Brown with any questions.

BLOOD DRIVE DEC. 14 Sign up in the courtyard at either lunch or come to Miss Ellis’ Room 4-118. As long as you’re 16 or older you can donate! You’ll get a free holiday blanket, snacks, community service, and MOST IMPORTANTLY you’ll be saving lives!

ASTRONOMERS, There will be a star party on Dec. 14th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Daniel’s Way parking lot… weather permitting.  

DECA is holding a fundraiser for families in need. They are collecting non-perishable canned goods and community service hours will be awarded for the time spent collecting your items. There are bins for drop-off in front of the office, in the school store, or in room 4-106. Donations will be accepted up until winter break.

THE RONALD MCDONALD CLUB PULL TAB HOLIDAY CONTEST Get them from soda or any other cans and drop off the pull tabs from your first-period class in room 4-116. They need to be washed, bagged and labeled with the number of tabs inside and your first-period teacher’s name and room number labeled on the submissions. The class that collects the most pull tabs will get baked goods. The deadline is January 6, 2022.

NHS MEMBERS Please remember that you must participate in ONE community service activity before the winter break. The only activity left is the toy drive. Failure to complete a service will result in removal from the Honor Society. See Ms. Sparks in room 1-155 during periods 1-6 and both lunches.

TUTORÍA  Consigue ayuda adicional con cualquiera de tus clases o tareas asignadas asistiendo a nuestra tutoría de ESOL. La tutoria se ofrece todos los días después de la escuela en la biblioteca de la escuela de 2:45 a 4: 45 de la tarde. Damos meriendas a los que asisten y cualquier persona que asista podrá participar en una rifa para premios.  Nos vemos pronto!

TUTORING Get extra help with any of your classes or homework assignments by attending our ESOL tutoring offered every day after school in the media center from 2:45-4:45 pm.  Snacks will be provided and anyone who attends will be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Come check it out!
