THE TEACHER OF THE WEEK is Mrs. Helene McAfee! Mrs. McAfee does so much to brighten our days from the coffee cart to flower delivery and it all centers around bettering the ESE program here at JHS. Her students adore her and grow under her mentorship! Congratulations Mrs. McAfee! You are very well deserving of this award!

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY Members, there will be a brief meeting today, January 11, at 2:45 in Portable #29.  For those members attending from home, the Google Meet Code is: cm76bja.  Please make sure to attend the meeting as the new officers will be announced along with the many activities for goodness impact in our community this 2nd Semester. WOMEN’S SOCCER SENIOR NIGHT Wednesday the 12th at 7:30. The Varsity team is currently 4 wins 1 Loss and 4 ties heading into play Martin County High School who is undefeated with 6 wins and 4 ties. Come out and support Women’s soccer and their seniors!

SPRING SPORTS (This week please!) Anyone seeking to try out for a spring sport this year needs to check the athletics social media or the head coach of your sport if you have not already done so. Packets must be completed, turned in, and cleared by Ms. Jalm’s office before you are eligible to try out. Questions? JHS BASEBALL TRYOUTS are on Monday 1/24 at Doug Ferguson Field check-in at 3:15.  Bring all necessary baseball equipment that will be needed for the tryouts.  Athletic packets must be fully completed correctly and are due by Wednesday 1/12 and turned into COach Mook in room 6-215.  Any questions or problems, please see Coach Mook ASAP.

Be ready on the 24th both physically & mentally for the opening tryouts.There is a mandatory players meeting for anyone who wants to tryout for baseball.  It will be on Tuesday 1/18 at 3pm in room 6-215.  Players must attend this meeting for the tryouts which is on Monday 1/24 at 3pm. Any problems or questions, see Coach Mook in room 6-215

BOYS VOLLEYBALL There will be a boys volleyball meeting on Thursday, January 13th in room 1-157 in the Media Center. Anyone interested in trying out, please attend.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Grad Bash is coming soon! Please make sure you pay attention to all announcements. Grad Bash will take place on Friday, April 1 at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This is for seniors only! There will be a required meeting for anyone wanting to attend Grad Bash on Tuesday, January 18 in the auditorium. This meeting will take place during the 7th period block. Understand that this day is a block day so 7th period will begin at 12:51 p.m. Please plan on being present. The paperwork for Grad Bash will be given out at that time and then the first 150 people to sign up and turn in their completed paperwork will be the first ones to go.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS John C. Giba Student Leadership Awards Program, The Cary Stamp Scholars Fund, Chamber Foundation Scholarship. A minimum of seven recipients will be selected and will receive award amounts ranging from $1,500 to $10,000.
