SHE CLUB will be meeting tomorrow, Feb. 10, in room 4-110 during B lunch to make Valentine’s Day cards, bracelets, and necklaces for women and children in need at Place of Hope. Anyone is welcome, including members of the Women’s Empowerment Club who would like to work on their International Women’s Day posters.

ESOL TUTORING IS CANCELED TODAY Due to the faculty meeting, but will resume on Thursday in the media center.

JUPITER HIGH SMASH WARRIORS compete in their first SMASH tournament of the season today (wed) at 4. Wish them luck.

THE NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF CLUB is meeting on Monday, 2/14, in room 5-215! Ideas for our meeting on Valentine’s Day are encouraged.  New members are welcome, so if you haven’t, feel free to sign up on the Google Classroom with the code: qsklz7k.  Additionally, if you would like to bring snacks, you can put them in Mrs. Steyn’s class before the meeting. COURSE SELECTION starts February 14.  Counselors will distribute course selection sheets and review with students our course offerings, specific content pathways, graduation requirements, and college readiness expectations.  This year’s course selection assembly schedule during English classes is as follows: Tuesday, 2/15 – Rising sophomores, Wednesday, 2/16 – Rising juniors, Thursday, 2/17 – Rising seniors. Students will have an opportunity to meet with their counselors individually to review their academic and elective selections throughout the month of March and the first few weeks of April. Tuesday, March 8th, is our Advanced Program Showcase for parents and students.  We are combining this event with our rising 9th Grade Orientation.  The 9th Grade Orientation begins at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium followed by the Advanced Programs Showcase at 7 pm in the Courtyard, Café, and Media Center.

EVERYONE NEEDS ENCOURAGEMENT Starting today (2/9) you can bring your lunch to Portable 3 during second lunch and eat with others you can talk to, relate to, or just be around. The message is simple and clear for all of us, “YOU ARE NEVER ALONE”. You can get an “encouragement wristband” and a notecard to always have with you. Have someone in mind that you think can benefit from the wristband and notecard? Then stop by as well to get one to give to them. If You have 1st lunch, stop by Portable 3 anytime before school or periods 1 through 5 to get a wristband and a notecard. And always remember you are “NEVER ALONE” at JHS!

BRAIN BEE MEETING Calling all buzzing bees! There will be a meeting of Brain Bee participants on Thursday Feb. 10 at 2:40pm in Mrs. Rodgers’ room 7-208.  Alternates should plan to attend also.  See you then!

WORLD ETHICS CLUB is partnering with the Homeless Coalition for a food drive now until this Friday, February 11th. Please donate non-perishables to Miss Ellis’ Room 4-118. Join the google classroom with the code aenvch5 for more information and to participate in the World Ethics Club Donator of the Month Challenge.

BATTLEBALL All forms and team money are due today, February 9th. Drop off these 2 items to Mr. Hammett in Portable 1 to secure your spot.  We are only accepting 20 teams. 

THE LARGEST PHILANTHROPY EVENT is on February 26th from 5-10 pm here on the JHS campus, our 7th annual Dance Marathon.  We hope to raise $30k or more for the Children’s Miracle Network @ Shands Hospital in Gainesville Florida.  We would like EVERYONE on campus to come to this event and raise money for these children. Why wouldn’t you want to come and spend 5 hours with your friends having the time of your life and help these children get better!

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Help plant cypress trees at Jupiter High School’s Perry Cohen Pond! Weed pulling: EVERY Wednesday in February afterschool from 3-4 pm. Once cleared…Cypress tree planting: February 26 from 9-11:30 am. Community service hours will be given for all attendance!

THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY is hosting a clothing drive that all students at JHS can participate in. One hour of community service for your time selecting 3 items of clothing will be given with a CAP of ten hours or thirty items. Donations must be labeled with the number of clothing items, student name, and student number. Drop offs at the main office will NOT be accepted. Students will drop off donations to room 1-155 only! NO socks or undergarments! Deadline is Friday, February 18th.

MATHEMATICS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY is accepting applications. Come by room 6-110 to pick up an application Requirements: Junior or Senior currently enrolled at Jupiter High in: Pre-Calculus, AICE Math, AP Statistics, AP Calculus or dual enrolled in College Algebra or higher. Have a 3.5 GPA in all math classes and a 3.5 overall unweighted GPA. All applications are due by: February 18th.  NO EXCEPTIONS
