Daily Announcements

THE JUPITER HS JROTC MARKSMANSHIP TEAM has done it again.  The team composed of Lieutenant Colonel Julian Cunningham, Captain Hunter Curry, Major Abigail Blalock, Staff Sergeant Ryan Jackson, and led by Captain Leslie Diaz, took 1st Place in the Palm Beach District Superintendent’s Marksmanship Cup.  Captain Leslie Diaz took 1st place in the standing position followed by Major Blalock in 2nd, Major Cunningham in 3rd, and Staff Sergeant Jackson in 4th.  This is the first time all competitors achieved over 500 points in a single competition.  They accomplished all this by receiving, learning, and getting used to a new system they received only 3 days before the competition. This is a reflection of their superb skills.  After the competition Team Captain Leslie Dias got her wish of burying a pie into the coach’s face.  The team earned that right!  The team will be competing at the State level next month.

THE JUPITER HIGH SCHOOL PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE AND COLORGUARD competed in the Florida Federation of Colorguard Circuit state championships this past weekend in Daytona Beach.  The color guard had a strong performance, and completed the season with a 5th place finish, while the Percussion ensemble was able to walk away with a bronze medal.  Congratulations to both teams on a phenomenal year! The defending state champion Spirit of Jupiter Marching Band will be having an informational meeting on April 4th at 6:00 PM in the auditorium to discuss the upcoming marching season.  All are welcome to attend if you would like to join, and there is no experience required!  If you have any questions about the band, color guard, or percussion, please feel free to find Mr. Ross in Room 8-103 to ask, or email [email protected]
