LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS are in search of current 12th graders with Italian Heritage or of Italian descent. The deadline is this week, March 31!!! As of Friday, not one JHS senior has applied!!! We always have at least one recipient and they love to recognize our seniors since they are a local organization. Hurry and Apply!

SENIORS: THE GRADUATION MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE AUDITORIUM ON THURSDAY, MARCH 31ST, DURING YOUR ENGLISH CLASS. WE WILL REVIEW ALL THINGS GRADUATION-RELATED, INCLUDING TICKETS, DRESS CODE, REQUIREMENTS, VENUE, ETC.  THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT MEETING WITH A LOT OF INFORMATION.  BE IN ATTENDANCE THIS DAY!! If you don’t have an English class, please attend during another class period 1-6. Check in with your teacher first.

 

THE BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT is hosting tutoring sessions for ALL Biology students. Tutoring will take place in the Media Center from 2:45-3:45 pm every Tuesday and Thursday for the next five weeks. Sessions will focus on the EOC review packet handed out to students in class. Students do not need to sign up ahead of time and will get extra credit for each session they attend. Tutoring begins Tuesday, March 29th, and runs through Thursday, April 28th.

SPIRIT OF JUPITER MARCHING BAND The defending state champions are having an informational meeting on April 4th at 6:00 PM in the auditorium to discuss the upcoming marching season.  All are welcome to attend if you would like to join, and there is no experience required!  If you have any questions about the band, color guard, or percussion, please feel free to find Mr. Ross in Room 8-103 or email [email protected]

 

THE FUTURE LEADERS OF THE UNITED NATIONS is having a trail clean-up on Sunday, April 3 at Abacoa Community Park from 10 am – 12 pm. Double community service will be awarded if you stay for the full two hours. Sign up on our google classroom with code 42fhdj3. See you all there!

 

BEACH VOLLEYBALL has their LAST home game tonight. Come out to Jupiter Community Park (JCP) at 3:30 pm. They play against a very competitive Calvary Christian team. 

 

BEST BUDDIES We have two events this week.  March 30, we will meet at Jupiter community Park to watch the beach volleyball game.  Plan on being there by 3:30.  We will also have a lunch meeting on Thursday, March 31.  We will make posters for the Friendship Walk.  Hope to see you there.

 

SENIOR ATHLETES The Wall of Fame ceremony will be on May 10. If you believe you should be a part of this as an individual athlete who was named 1st team all-county or 1st team all-conference by the Sun-Sentinel or Palm Beach Post, please reach out to Ms. Jalm ASAP to ensure that you are recognized.

 

BOYS LACROSSE  plays TOMORROW, March 31st, at St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale.  The JV game starts at 6pm and Varsity begins at approximately 8pm.

 

CHILDHOOD CANCER SUPPORT CLUB! Members, Our celebratory party and last meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, April 5th in Mrs. Rodgers’ room 7-208.  Treats and annual wrap-up!  Let’s go!

 

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY will hold their last meeting of the year on Tuesday, April 5th after school at 2:45 in Portable #29, with Ms. Ferrer and Ms. Novoa. If you are already home, tune in via Google Meet by using the code: cm76bja.  We will thank our Officers for their dedication this year, enjoy some snacks if you are attending in person, volunteer hours, and other end of the year important issues.  ¡Muchas gracias!

STUDENTS AGAINST MELANOMA SAM Club Members – Our last meeting of the year will be Thursday, April 7th in Mrs. Rodgers’ room at 2:45 pm.  Please plan to attend!  End of year beach event and art contest will be announced! Snacks provided for in-person attendees. If you are already home, you are welcome to log onto a Google Meet.

 

ATTENTION ESOL STUDENTS: We will have a family information night for you and your families at 6 p.m. tonight (3/30). The meeting will be virtual, so make sure to join our Google Classroom for ESOL families so that you can get the meeting code the night of the meeting.  We will discuss a lot of important topics, such as how to be successful in school, passing the reading test for graduation and so much more! See you then!
