Taylor’s Farmhouse: Review

Taylors+Farmhouse%3A+Review
Scarlett Bolt

Taylor’s Farmhouse Café is a ranch style restaurant and bar which offers a cozy atmosphere and live music. Though its only location is in Jupiter Farms, it has a sister restaurant, Taylor’s Beach House, located in Hobe Sound. Both restaurants are owned by Chef Christopher Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor.

Taylor’s Beach House is less popular, but still just as delicious. The café is a coastal chic style restaurant including a tiki bar. Due to the proximity of Taylor’s Beach House to the ocean, the menu differs from Taylor’s Farmhouse, including varieties of seafood options as their main entrée choices.

The Taylors have owned and ran two other businesses for the last 17 years. One of them, The Cobblestone Café, the other Jupiter Burrito Bros. Jupiter Burrito Bros closed in 2018 and was a Tex-Mex restaurant.

In July 2023, Mike Trim of WPTV announced Taylor’s Farmhouse would partner with Ralph Lewis, owner of Okeechobee Steakhouse, which is located on Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach, Fla. Lewis will now run and operate the establishment under a lease agreement.

Residents of Jupiter Farms requested lunch menu options to be served and to be open on Sundays, both of which were acknowledged and accomplished. Starting Sept. 9, Taylor’s Farmhouse will offer extended hours on Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“It would be fun to go with family and friends on weekends because of the fact it’s really inviting and there are games outside,” Kaitlyn Madden, freshman and Jupiter Farms resident, said.

The crowds have continued to grow creating traffic issues, which has made parking difficult for customers. Under the new management, however, Lewis plans to improve parking at the restaurant.

“The parking is not ideal,” Alisha Rountree said. “Customers often double park along Jupiter Farms road which creates a blind spot when pulling out of the parking lot and Jupiter farms park. [Jupiter Farms residents] are excited they are going to fix the parking situation.”

Taylor’s farmhouse has bonfires where customers can relax and enjoy the night hours as well as  a vegetable garden they grow themselves, which adds to the scenery of the outside dining experience.

This week I got the opportunity to sit down with a server, who elected to remain anonymous, at Taylor’s farmhouse. She expressed one of the best things about working there is the proximity to her house.

“I like how close it is to my house, so it’s super convenient because I take a five minute drive,” the server said. “There’s a lot more structure [with the new management] so it is more organized in a lot of ways.”

This restaurant has grown into a thriving hotspot for our neighborhood where members of our community gather to eat and drink whether it be by bike, car or golf cart to have a good time.

My favorite thing on the menu is the Kicked Up Mac & Cheese, which is a creamy flavorful mac and cheese which contains all-natural chicken, sautéed mushrooms, corkscrew pasta, chipotle peppers, scallions, and parmesan & romano cheese. This dish costs $20 which is expensive and can add up when dining with multiple people.

The service there is amazing, I got a refill right away and was checked in on by multiple servers with the sweetest personalities.

The menu lists out every ingredient included in the dish and if one has any questions about the menu, staff members are willing to go above and beyond for customer satisfaction and safety. This is perfect for people with allergies or health problems who can feel intimidated when dining at a restaurant with so many ingredients and choices. They offer menu items for meat lovers along with accommodations to fit vegetarians, pescatarians and vegans.

I highly recommend giving Taylor’s Farmhouse Café a try. The food and drinks, atmosphere and staff are all factors which make this an awesome choice when deciding where to eat.
