Oliva Gilbert, a current junior, is going into her third year on the War Cry staff. She has always had a passion for journalism and wants to continue that path in the future. “I want to be a journalist when I am older, so having this experience and this understanding of the journalism world before college is an amazing thing,” Gilbert said. This year she is the section editor for school news, A&E and a beat executive. Overall, Gilbert believes War Cry is a place to strive and advance , “War Cry is a great place to build your skills not as just a journalist but as a writer and it is an amazing class to take to get better at your writing while having fun,” Gilbert said.
